Not worth it - check in receptionist Lisa Ann needs to learn about welcoming and calmness (hey, you work in a SPA). Building outdated, cramped and uncomfortable. Cheap robes, used flip flops, only thing good was the facial from Milana. Unfortunately unless she leaves spa sydell I wont see her again.
Obo is the BEST! – I was having some severe pain on my neck and back and desperately needed a massage on a SUNDAY, on short notice. Obo was there. He was awesome! Took the time to ask where it was hurting and used perfect pressure and technique! LOVE HIM!
This is a toop rated spa? – If a government entity was going to open a spa this would be how they would do it. The massage rooms were tiny and government green. Not a hint of relaxing decor or music. The sheets were cheap and scratchy. My spa pedicure took place on a bench with my feet in a sink. Yes, a double stainless steel sink complete with drain stopper and spray nozzle. It was half filled with tepid water. It was like someone was doing my feet in their kitchen. The only remotely normal part was the manicure. The services performed were ok but the atmosphere was third word. How they can call themselves the best spa in Atlanta is beyond me.
Thank Goodness It Was Free – My friend gave me a gift certificate to Spa Sydell for my birthday so I decided to use it and treat myself to a pedicure. I typically get them at your everyday nail salon which could pretty much be found on every corner in the Alpharetta area. So I was excited for my Spa Sydell experience. However, the excitement quickly dissipated the moment I walked in. The lobby/waiting area of the Alpharetta location was not as inviting nor as luxurious as I had hoped or imagined. The carpeting was old and worn and the decor was cheap and somewhat outdated. My disappointment continued as I was led back for my pedicure. The selection of nail polish was extremely limited but at least it was OPI. My pedicure was done in a private room which I liked since it was quiet and personal. But I must admit it was very strange soaking my feet in a small stainless steel sink. I expected a relaxing foot spa and nice comfortable massage chair to rest in but instead I got neither! There were 2 magazines to choose from, neither of which I was very interested in. The woman who performed my service was nice and she did a good job but for 50 bucks I expected no less! After all was said and done, I thanked them and went on my way extremely glad that I didn't have to shell out my own money for an overall experience that was just well - average.
Alpharetta's Go To for Relaxation – While everyone else in Alpharetta was headed to the beach for Spring Break, I was stuck here working. So I treated myself to day at the spa. I booked several services at Spa Sydell in Alpharetta to get ready for spring.
I arrived at the Spa Sydell in Alpharetta, which is located near North Point Mall and was very easy to find, and was taken back to change into a robe. They gave me flavored tea and sat me down in a dark waiting area with soft, relaxing music. I was in heaven!!
Next, my massage therapist, Jason, took me back for my hour massage. Jason gave me my best massage ever! He incorporated streches and work deeper on areas that needed more attention. I workout frequently and Jason was great massage therapist for someone who is athletic.
My second service was a Wrap and Polish, with Galina. This was to get my skin silky smooth for spring. First she had me sit in the steam room for 10 minutes. She got me flavored water and came back to check on me. Next, we did the polish, which is a full exfoliation of the body. They use a combination of sea salts, lemon juice, and oil. This is to remove all the dead skin cells from your top layer of skin. After the polish, I showered off and went back for the wrap. Galina covered my body in warm mineral mud and wrapped me up like a burrito!! It was awesome. I was able to just close my eyes and relax in this warm cocoon of mud. Then, off to shower again and back to Galina who covered me once more in lotion. My skin felt amazing!
Lastly, I saw Liliya for my facial. She was able to squeeze in a quick brow wax too. Liliya, used to be a Massage Therpaist so I was in for a real treat with her touch. She also did a great analysis on my skin. We upgraded to a pumpkin peel, which smelled delicious.
My relaxing day at Spa Sydell did so much for my blues of not going to the beach. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. And my skin is now ready for bikini's and sundresses! Every female needs to get a wrap and polish at the begininng of this season. Next, I need to go back for an Airbrush Tan!!
Great Value – Gave my wife a gift certificate for X-Mas and she said it was one of the best massages she has ever had. They have a real friendly staff and good value. well run place and im sure we will be back. Enjoy
Love the Alpharetta location – I have been to the alpharetta location many times and love it. April gives the BEST massages ever. I see Liliya to have my eyebrows waxed and eyelashes tinted. She does such as great job. I will not let anyone else touch my eyebrows. Job well done Alpharetta location.
are they going broke – I've been going to Spa Sydell for years. I love my facialist, but I'm considering going to another spa because they HAVE NO PRODUCTS! They have a really great exfoliater and they've been out of it for MONTHS. They don't even have cleansers. What's so funny is that my facialist used to be a heavy product pusher, but even she knows that there isn't much to buy. I seriously doubt that there will be an August sale-unless they're selling candles.
Looks like the recession is kicking their butts. I warn all customers, DON'T PURCHASE A SERIES!!! Looks like this spa is going down.
Love the facials though.
Go to Spa Sydell in Alpharetta – I live in LA but I'm from Roswell. Whenever I am home, my Mom and I always back a point at coming to this spa. I literally have experienced the best massage of my life with Jayson and my skin always glows after a facial from Liliya. My Mom loved her facial with Jo and I forget the name of her masseuse but she must have had some strong hands to make my Mom as relaxed as she was after our last visit. I've read some of the negative reviews about the service and I honestly could not disagree more! Those people must have been in a bad mood that day or something because I have never received anything but pleasantness from the staff here. Can't recommend it enough, this is an amazing location of this already fantastic spa chain.
Great Spa – I have been to Spa Sydell many times to get facials, microdermabrasions, and a spray tan. The staff member that I have seen the most is Jo. She is amazing. She is super nice and is very knowledgeable in her field. I would recommend her to everyone.
