This Message its for Montiago V and second stop writing fake reviews like you did in the old Roy Teeluck Page with the name RonniB and MontiagoV . I never charged 500 for Highlights (250 old price ) and as far as i remember i did not have anyone in long time for Redo .I decided to Write this for the first time and last because all the reviews you Wrote has no meaning because first you say orange and than platinum (which is two different tone ) and you keep mentioning chunky which is all the opposite at what i do . If someone is trying to make you do this and make them self look better and more talented ,than go ahead its your choice i cant stop you .And that's why i posted this review my self not make others speak about me .And it seems you have more personal attack about me personally based on what i read than anything else .And what i stand for its for healthy hair and natural, and you trying to say the opposite because that's what they told you to write .If you have any other question feel free to call the salon and would Love to meet you in person and discuss your problem .Thankyou
I am happy to have found Diego again. I saw him at Roy Teeluck and found his approach and way with clients very approachable. He is a lovely person who still cares for his customers. Diego is quiet and unassuming yet very talented. I have been to many salons in this crazy town and I'm glad to have found one that is workable for me. Marie did the color. Each person was helpful and caring. Something unique in big name salons. Give Diego a chance and know you'll be pleased.
I was just visiting to write about my experience w/Abbi Hilati, but I see she's moved on from her old place to this salon. Nonetheless, my review does apply to her and the experience at her previous salon. I walked into that salon w/beautiful, fairly untouched dark blonde hair and I wanted to add some highlights. Abbie turned my hair orange! Orange w/chunky blonde, almost platinum blonde streaks that started at the root/part line. I started to cry because it was like a bad prank. It was that cheap, trashy looking technique. And my natural looking hair was orange, I'm not kidding, orange. She turned cold as ice and said she'd "glaze it" or "gloss it". I didn't trust her to fix it but I let her put the gloss on and that turned my hair an ugly flat brown. At that point, she said "I won't charge you" but that was only because I was upset and people were looking, I asked, "but what about my hair?" Someone else will correct it. Scheduling the correction was a pain and it damaged my hair so much. A guy did the best that he could, maybe Russ, I don't remember because it was my 1st and last time there, but my hair has never been the same. He even said "I see exactly what you're talking about". Abbi is weird, she doesn't have talent, and that guy, the owner, was pretty rude, too. I guess they've parted ways. But she is not a good colorist. Cuts, I don't know, does she cut hair? I could see a lot of damaged hair going to see her before and after me, and in her chair at my "correction". No client's hair looked "great". But, Abbi was really terrible and she did terrible things to my very easy and pretty hair. It's months later and so much of my hair has fallen out from the damage she did.
Great artist!!! Diego Miranda. It's rare that I give carte blache to a stylist when cutting my hair and am completely satisified with the results. But I'm happy to say that my experience at Julien Farel was one of these rare occasions.
After a strong recommendation from a friend, I went in search of Diego Miranda to help give me a cutting edge but easily manageable cut for my hair. The results far exceeded my expectations. He is a true artist, attentive and skillful. The next time I do anything with my hair, I'm going to Diego.
I have been searching for a great colorist for a long time when I found Abby Haliti. I had read many great reviews about her technics and the unique way she does balyage and ombre hair, according to the reviews abby is the guru of those technics, i found Abby at julien farel along with Diego Miranda... i was really excited to do a total transformation, cut and color. Diego Miranda and Abby Haliti are a great team. Diego gave me a great cut, which I was very happy with, he gave me body and softness which I wanted. and Abby gave me the most amazing hightlights, balayage she calls... Diego and Abby just recently started working At Julien Farel, the place it's in a great location, the staff it's very pleasant and attentive. They even have a kitchen with a very extensive menu you could order from... Great experience all around. Definitely recommend the salon and also for great styling and cut Diego Miranda and for amazing color Abby Haliti
Ps. While I was getting my color this client from London came straight from the airport just to see Abby... And she walked out a different woman, I was amazed!!!
Andre Davis is the hair whisperer! – Andre Davis has been styling my hair for years now and I followed him to Julien Farel Salon last year. Bottom line: this man knows hair! And he listens to what you ask, gives advice and will never ever do something that he professionally thinks doesn't suit your hair. My hair has grown like weeds since I have seen him, I could swear he is a hair whisperer!! His hair cuts are modern, sophisticated and aimed to complement your face shape and style. As for his styling, every time I leave the salon I strut down Madison Ave feeling like a Victoria Secret model - the man can style! If Andre was to move to Alaska I would book flights to get my hair done by him. Julien Farel Salon, you guys are lucky to have him in your salon!
Andre Davis is the best stylist out there - A List Star only – Andre has been my hair stylist for a few years now and I must say he kicks it up a notch every time! I am not in the fashion business, but am in the luxury industry and hair is everything to me. It makes a girl convey that much more if you have the right hair style. From romantic and sappy to powerful and sophisticated, Andre can do it all! Not only does he listen to his clients, most importantly, he is the kindest person I know. Every time when I walk out of Julien Farel, I always get stopped by random people asking me where I get my haircut.
If you want style that makes people want to take a second look at you - Andre is the one :)
Comment to posting titled: NEVER AGAIN by kathywebnut – I have never done this before. But I am infuriated that someone can actually post such a comment based on utter lies!!!
First of all, I was a client at the salon for new years eve getting my hair done. I was there for several hours getting color and extensions. I know exactly who this person is! You didn't let an artist- Andre- do his work because you kept switching your mind a multitude of times. He listened and every time you changed your mind he still did exactly what you requested AND was beyond accommodating to you. You just didn't know what you wanted. The biggest mistake the salon did was not charge you for all the different hair styles that were requested in one visit. AND for the record ANDRE DAVIS DID NOT CUT YOUR HAIR. As a matter of fact he did not cut anyones hair that day! And the audacity for you to state "that the ambiance is frigid"- you must be kidding- they are the most amazing team and extremely attentive to everyone- including you! You seemed to love your hair very much as you stated it when you got up out of your chair!
Never again – I was so upset with my hair i cried all new years eve. My haircut with Andre at this overpriced salon was enough for me to stay home for NYE. my hair is unmanageable besides being to chopped. He did not listen to me and no one else there seemed to care that much. For them, i guess they think it's normal to give bad haircuts as i wasn't seeing anything that impressed me walking out the door.
The ambiance is frigid to say the least, i will be looking elsewhere to spend my hard earned cash to get the service i need.
First time visit will go back when I am NYC again – I created a Yelp and Citysearch account just to rave about my experience with Marie Lepard at Julian Farel.
I flew in from Houston for a long weekend and scheduled an appointment with Marie to have my hair highlighted. I had gone to Peter for color a very long time ago (when he worked at Frederic Fekkai) and I loved his work but wanted to try someone who was a little less expensive than his current bill rate. I read that Marie had also worked under the late Constance Hartnett, the queen of color IMO, so scheduled color with her. The entire experience was perfect. The front desk was so accomodating... they even fielded a call from my mom who was trying to reach me because I left my cellphone in the hotel. Everyone was so laid back and friendly very different from my experiences in the 1990's at FF.
Marie did a fantastic job on my hair color. I felt like a million bucks and to make the experience even better Marie was just so genuinely nice to me. My boyfriend and I were going to an Islanders game and Marie, being an Islander herself, recommended restaurants, researched the addresses online while my hair was processing, and wrote it all down for me. The next day after I lost the piece of paper I called the salon asking for the restaurants again and the staff was so nice, they called Marie on her day off to get the information and called me back. Marie if you are out there reading this...the Italian restaurant was fantastic too!
I was a little nervous about the cost before I checked out, considering all the time and effort Marie put into my hair. But it was less than $300 which I consider extremely reasonable for NYC and for someone as skilled as Marie.
All of the clients looked so good when they went out the door that not only would I go back to Marie, I would also try anyone at the salon. I highly recommend Julian Farel and Marie to anyone.
