Nothing fancy but good for a deli meal when you are missing a good ol' corned beef sandwich!

Don't be so quick to judge – Honestly I don't know what the bag about Bill is all about. I've been living in the neighborhood for 10 years and even my kids have known his name since age 2. Business is tight for everyone nowadays lighten up. Don't judge a book by its cover he is very knowledgeable man especially about whine! their Reubens honestly are the best In the world (take it from a guy who travels allot) check it out sometime they have such a great menu and their coffee and cappuccinos rock!! The server Jon even made me a latte with a smiley face how cool is that!

Victor's Real Maple syrup! – WOW! I had to double check and make sure the the bad reviews are for the same Victors I am talking about! I can only share my experience. The soup is great, the sandwiches are great and the breakfast are perfect! I bit expensive but the servings are pretty darn big. The manager is delightful! I have other reasons to love this place but they are not important to others so I wont mention them but if your looking for a good, pretty close to home made meal, go to Victors and dish out a dollar or two more, Its worth it.

sliding – They used to be a busy deli, with a crowd of all ages and types, from young to old, middle class to movie stars. Now it's mostly near empty, and the food and service has slumped. They never did learn to poach an egg; unless you like them runny (as many do). When I mentioned my latest disaster to the manager he insisted it was MY fault. Perhaps they are bitter because the new places nearby are 'eating their lunch' but the manager's rudeness makes me loath to return soon. I've noticed a number of such complaints about him.

They still make good matso ball soup and generally good brisket sandwiches - about half the time. It's hard to keep the quality up when business is so slow.

Rude manger again – I was going to write a review about how rude the manager or owner or whatever he is, but it looks like someone beat me to the punch. They are spot on with that review. He's just one of those bitter types that doesn't deserve your money.

Great Chicken Soup – I've been dining at Victor's for years because I love their chicken soup, coffee and potato pancakes -- these are hard to beat! -- but the server seldom knew the name of the coffee he was serving (it varies from day to day), their corned beef sandwich is nowhere near as good as Langer's, and their too-fresh stuffed cabbage lacks soul. Their chopped liver sandwich is okay. I always get along well with Bill, the manager; what's with you folks who rub him the wrong way? The creepy carpet is gone; the floor is bare and looks dingey. I like it.

Overpriced, crappy service, only 1 good menu item – Walk in the door and be greeted by a scowl from the owner, who will reluctantly seat you like you've interrupted him while he was enjoying picking wings off flies. The first time this happened, I thought we just caught him in a bad mood, but subsequent visits prove that was one of his *good* moods!

His attitude permeates throughout the rest of the staff -- the service is surly and slow. Slooooow.

The food is standard deli, but vastly overpriced. The Rueben sandwich is good, everything else we tried over four visits was mediocre or worse. Yes, we came back three more times because we really thought we must've caught them at a bad time. We couldn't understand how someone could stay in business and be this bad with the public.

I certainly don't need to be coddled -- just bring the food in reasonable time and don't treat me like a prisoner in Abu Ghraib and I'm happy. I'm easy to please, but this place couldn't even meet my moderate standards of service.

Do yourself a favor and pass on this subpar deli.

Save up and go – Victor's Deli is a local neighborhood standard. Known for their good food and down-home sensibilities, Victor's doesn't let you down. Adult-sized portions and swift service will keep you happy. However, their prices have gone haywire (mid-teens for a basic pasta or burger, and $10 for soup, etc.). Also, the "outdoor dining" in the parking lot leaves much to be desired. With some small corrections (mostly in pricing), Victors could again be as good as it thinks it is. In the meantime, it's still worth an occasional visit -- after you've saved up enough of your paycheck.

soup steam – Victor's is a well-known deli/liquor mart on the Soap Opera Mile of Franklin near the Mayfair Market and all the Scientology stuff...a true neighborhood spot with the best, best matzo ball and chicken soup. The plum Miami Vice-meets-warehouse decor is sterile, and they definitely need more booths, but you can't beat the freshness and service.
