Besides the Sandy Blvd store, this is my favorite Whole Foods--the prepared foods section is huge, everything's always really fresh, and the upstairs juice bar makes great green juices. It's always busy, but the lines move pretty quickly so you can still manage a quick lunch even at peak hours.

Great store! Great addition to the area. Great cheese selection, except for the new Clover brand. Did they actually try this cheese before bringing it in, or was the price too good to pass up? Kinda cheap and 'pedestrian' and not the quality you'd come to expect from Whole Foods. But a great store none the less.

Awesome products, horrible service – I love the products but I hate the shopping experience. Whole Foods has the best selection of cheese, wine, flowers...you name it. It's gourmet heaven. Their selection and quality/price is much better than similar grocery stores. However, the customer service makes me think twice before shopping there, here's why:

It's been several times that I've been charged the same item twice, gone home and realize that one or more items that I purchased are missing, because the cashier forgot to put them in my bag. It's so frustrating! As if it wasn't expensive enough! I've contacted them about this but got no response.

It's a wonderful store, and actually not that expensive of compared to other "upscale/organic" stores. Just watch out before you leave the store. Oh: and if you are in the store and need help finding an item, as other people mentioned, good luck!

Treat the body like a temple at the country's first national certified organic market. – In Short
Whole Foods is a vegetarian's dream grocery store, with a focus on natural and organic goods and a gargantuan selection of fruits, vegetables and vegan products. But carnivores won't feel neglected, as stores also boast a vast selection of top-quality meats, poultry and fish. Also expect fresh-baked goods, housewares, a floral department and a well-stocked vitamin and personal-product section. Deli offers hot and cold prepared foods and artisanal cheeses.

Why shop there? – I don't have a Whole Foods store near where I live. The other day, while working in the Pearl District, I thought I'd check the WF location there. The place was extremely busy and was faily appealing, clean, and bright. Everything went downhill from there. I couldn't find anyone to help locate a few items - it seems the store was understaffed even considering the crown that were there. After I finally found some of the items I was looking for, I was shocked to see that prices were often 3-4 times more than I would pay other chains. (Canned chillies were $4.76 while I can purchase the same brand and size items elsewhere for $1.99 or less. Same cereal, olive oil, tortillas were again 2-3 times the prices I normally pay - I don't buy items on sale.) I don't consider myself a bargain shopper and don't mind paying a bit more here and there - heck, my time is worth a lot to me. But, I found the prices here to border gouging.

At the prices they're charging, you'd think you'd get more of something, service, selection, choice... none of these items really jumped out over your average grocery store. I've shopped at New Seasons before and the people there are definitely more friendly, courteous and knowledgable.

I supposed, if I lived in the Pearl, I wouldn't have much choice but to shop here. I guess I can say thank goodness I don't live in the Pearl.

Don't eat the prepared food. – For some unpleasantly unkown reason, I ALWAYS get sick after eating at the prepared food section. Salad bar, soup bar, pastas, cooked, uncooked... the only pattern I can think of is that the workers aren't taking precautions or the kitchen itself is filthy. I'm done with diarrh** cha cha cha.

watch out for the ground raw meat – i bought a pound of ground lamb and a pound of organic ground beef. Came home put it in the refrigerator and an hour later made small well done hamburgers with the two meats combined. We all have had very bad stools as a result since then, now almost 24 hours even though we only ate an organic bagged lettuce from whoel foods as well. I will never buy the ground meat there again!

Whole smile. – Living equidistant between two wild oats, I find it much more satisfying to get in my car and fight traffic to make it to Whole Foods. It isn't really any more expensive than wild oats. The staff at Whole Foods actually looks happy to be there. There isnt a negative attitude or atmosphere, and more than once the employees have gone out of their way to help. I have not had one look that screams " dont you realize I could be at band practice right now you hideous yuppie". I do not advocate by any means the have a nice day philosophy, but if I am going to pay for overpriced organic food, it would be nice to not need therapy afterwards.

Bring your Savings... – This is a top of the line market, almost a step above Zupans in it's variety. The produce is gloriously fresh, the cheese counter was dizzying, and where else can you find homemade marshmallows dusted with powdered sugar? But this place is not for the average joe who makes it from paycheck to paycheck. It caters to those who's pocketbook is as upscale as the store! For example, potato salad from the deli (about a cup's worth) ran almost $4.00. And the sliced meat counter didn't have any cuts under $10.99 a pound!! This place is great for inspiration, but tough on the pocket book.

Very Nice – I thoroughly enjoyed shopping at Whole Foods Market. Make sure you get some freshly ground whole wheat flour, and check out their selection of soy milk.

The staff was friendly and helpful, and the prices were reasonable.
