decent mexican food and friendly service – I enjoyed my meal here. so did my companion. the food is good. don't expect some sort of weird gourmet sort of food, but just normal good mexican food. the service is excellent. you will not be forgotten. I've only eaten there once so far, as its somewhat far from my house and I hate driving more than a mile. but I'll probably go back eventually. it was a pleasant experience. ironically, I did have a restaurantDOTcom certificate much like the other reviewer LOL. however. my experience was completely different and WAY better. also my certificate was only for $10. no issues anyhow. the owner was very nice about the certificate actually. doubt I'll be using the stupid restaurantDOTcom again though, that was a promo thing I got. also he said he canceled his account there, but he is still on the site, so that seems screwed up to me. so don't go getting those certificates for this place. made me wonder if other restaurants on that website have the same issue right? but this restaurant is very good. by the way, the chips are good. in case that matters to you. I had shrimp fajitas and the shrimp were yummy. I didn't like the beans but I'm not a fan of refried beans just generally. likely they would need to be smothered in cheese or something for me to like them. which was not the case. they were not too bad though, because I did eat half of the rice and beans before I just got too full to finish the plate. yeah, you definitely get enough food also. don't worry on that. you won't go away hungry.
NOT so good..... – Went there tonight for dinner. We were a little uneasy being the only people in there but we had a coupon from RestaurantDOTcom and thought we would give it a try.
When we ordered the guy was ok but when we handed him the coupon he became irate and said he wasn't serving us unless we ordered dessert or an appetiser beforehand.
I told him my wife and I would be satisfied with what we ordered (about $25). Things became ugly as he said he wasn't making any money from people with coupons!
Not wanting to eat there any longer we left (you never know what can find its way into your dinner when the staff is upset)
I feel bad for the guy since the economy is down but that is no way to treat the customer. Why get involved with discount promoters if you aren't going to honor the coupons? The whole idea is to get people to come in and like the place.
No wonder the restaurant was empty...
Unbelievable authentic Mexican food – We go to this restaurant about 3 times a month, sometimes more. My daughter is a picky eater and this is her favorite place to eat. That in itself says a ton!! Their chips and salsa are made fresh and are to die for. That is how we rate Mexican restaurants, the chips and salsa have to be good or we wont go back. We no longer live in that neighborhood but its worth the drive to get there. The family who own it are wonderful people. Highly recommended little hole in the wall restaurant, a treasure for sure.
