Belly dancing with 'Selanma' very disappointing & unsatisfactory. She is a very rude instructor. She doesn't know how to treat her students/costumers. I will never recommend her. When she talks it sounds like she is yelling. Never pay by cash if you still go. No form of paper work when you signup, no receipt so they can refuse to give refund. Very unprofessional.
Best Ju-Ju in Folsom!! – FABULOUS retail outlet for the far-out and outliers...an intense assembly of 'readers,' 'empaths,' 'spiritual advisors,' and other psychic gurus, all ready to amuse, entertain, and sustain the searching soul one more day. Worth a trip out for the occasional birthday gag, girl's afternoon out, and wedding shower! If you're into "Practical Magic,' 'Witches of Eastwick,' or blowing a buck for a good laugh, look no further...this is where the fun (at a price) is!
PS- as GREAT as Planet Earth Rising is, caveat emptor...meaning Buyer Beware: always look, first, for a business license posted in a prominent location when you visit a 'metaphysical shop' and always ask, second, to see an individual reader's OWN, personal biz license (from the state of California)--an 'entertainment license'--before you pay that soul retriever or tarot reader or 'born empath.'
If someone takes your money, via cash, check, Paypal, etc, and that individual does not possess a business license of his/her OWN (readers are 'subcontractors' in new age shops) you might has well be handing your cash to some homeless hustler on the street!
Ask to see the business license, the creds -- just like you do with your hairdresser, or dentist, or doctor! A reader without a personal 'entertainment' license from the state is really just a scam-artist....
Readings – I paid $25.00 for a reading to connect to my loved ones in Heaven, she claims she can but what I received for my money is her talking about oils and animals, nothing that pertained to my life. Never did get any names right either. Do not go for a reading here, use a real medium, not a physic, they are totally different. This place is not for people who have lost a loved one. Out of the 15 minutes she spent with me, 12 minutes was her talking about things that have nothing to do with me. Frankly I would like to have my money back. Live and learn.
Too much focus on sales. – I've been in this store six or more times over the years. I never make a special trip just to go there, but do to other businesses in Folsom. It's all about customer service for me and I'm a VERY engaging person. Every time I've tried to be chatty or light-hearted with the Planet Earth Rising staff, the response I receive is polite and humorless. Worse, I have even felt that there's some sort of "inside joke" going on - you know, then the relationship behind the counter isn't welcoming but exclusionary. I would spend more money there, but I'd rather go to On Purpose in Sutter Creek or A Thyme for Herbs in Arnold. Heck, I'd drive to Ancient Ways in Oakland before I'd "shop" here. It's a "get what you need and get the heck out" place for me. Too bad - it could be such a treasure, but they're just too focused on profit and status. Better luck next life.
The most enlightening and uplifting place – The staff is kind and helpful. The energy is loving and inviting. The merchandise is unique. A great place to spend some time.
Poor customer service skills and inconsistent pricing – I never could get an appointment. Their flyer notes that prices are flexible based on the reader, but when a coworker visited Planet Earth Rising for the first time in three years today, and came back with such interesting stories, she gave me the flyer and told me to schedule a direct intuitive appt with the same guy.
I immediately called, but was told that those prices weren't available for him, and I would have to pay double. I called back, named my coworker and what she had paid, and the lady on the phone rudely announced times and prices that did not match my coworker's receipt.
I can't afford the new price, and I can't go to a place that begins with arguments.
