Great for Business Lunches – Definitely a good spot for business lunches. Refreshing waterfall cascades down entire wall. Nice booths.

Everything I have eaten there has been good, way better than Safeway as stated in the other adds. Doesn't even compare. Can never go wrong with the Wok, the Chow Mein, or the Chinese chicken salad.

Meter parking on street is difficult to find. But city garages are around.

Cultures collide at this satisfying Asian-American Sacramento institution in Old Town. – The Scene
Set amid the shops and horse-drawn carriages of Old Sacramento, California Fats is part of a "culinary dynasty." Opened in 1987, it reflects the Pacific Rim heritage of its owners, restaurateurs Frank and Lina Fat, as well as the diversity and originality of California. This mixing of cultures is evident in the decor by L.A. designer Anthony Machado, which blends a pagoda-like structure and bright colors of the East with neon lights and remnants of Americana. The result is ''Blade Runner'' meets ''Madame Butterfly.''

The Food
The menu reveals a fusion of traditions, with its wood-fired pizzas, stir-fried entrees and specialty meat dishes.

What to Order
Chicken potstickers served with pepper-vinegar dipping sauce are lip-smacking good. Also try the chicken in a "Fat pot," which comes in (you guessed it) a fat pot with fresh vegetables over a hot bed of rice. Another safe bet is the marinated flank steak medallions served with braised potatoes and vegetables.

What to Skip
The Chinese chicken salad is nothing more than a huge pile of soggy iceburg lettuce with tiny bits of chicken thrown in.

Not Real Chinese Food – You can get better Chinese food at Safeway or Mr. Chow's. The ambiance is unique because they have these little private booths with red chinese lanterns but the food is Americanized, not authentic, portions are tiny, and it just doesn't taste good.
