One of my favorite Sacto restaurants – This is a great place for a casual place to eat. The food is always good and the atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious.
Disappointing pizza – If you are a true pizza lover, don't order pizza at Paesano's. Although this restaurant came highly recommended from a local, we were disappointed in the pizza. I went to dinner with a true Italian so here are his recommendation for good pizza:
-pizza must not be served in slices
-for margherita pizza, must use buffalo mozzarella (not provolone)
-sauce should not taste like ketchup, but like true tomato sauce
-basil should be in leaves, not cut in pieces
-crust (the border near the pan) should be thicker and slightly burnt
-should not be served in an aluminum plate
Also, we had to wait 40 minutes for our pizza! I do have to say that the atmosphere was very hip and cool and the waitstaff was friendly.
I've driven from the bay area JUST to eat here! – EXCELLENT spot for a great, affordable meal. Food is served promptly, cooked in an open kitchen, pizzas are superb, and the atmosphere is bustling.
This is a popular spot on weekends, so plan on a little wait - but it's MORE than worth it.
I've been known to drive to Sacramento (about an hour drive for me) just to eat at Paesano's.
The Best Restaurant In Sac!!! – I would suggest this restaurant to anyone, I have been eating at paesanos for a few years now and the food and ambiance cannot be duplicated. by far the hippest place in town. If you have not tryed it, You need to.
not worthy of the hype – I've heard from so many people how this is their favorite restaurant. I have been a few times and fail to see why. The pasta dishes are very tasty but the servings are extremely small for the price. The pizza is simply awful. The service is good. This place gets really loud.
10:00 PM means 9:40 PM – We arrived at 9:40 PM on Thursday the night before New Year's Eve and there was plenty of available seating. The sign in the window said they were open until 10:00 PM. The hostess told us that they were closed and that they couldn't serve us. I will never ever go back.
This diva of pizza joints serves unexpected gourmet pies with pizzazz. – The Scene
Everything about Paesano's is cool, from its midtown digs with a shady patio to the funky artwork, bohemian waitstaff and microbrew beers. People from all walks of life come here to chow down and soak up the in-crowd vibe.
Though the pasta and sandwiches are intriguing, the pizzas take center stage. Chunks of papaya, pineapple and plantains cover the cheesy base of the Jamaican pizza. Add goat cheese and jerk chicken, and the Jamaican becomes a Caribbean masterpiece. This combination of meat and sweet puts standby ham-and-pineapple Hawaiian to shame. The potato-chicken pizza is another gourmet wonder. The tart, buttery mix of white wine and lemon sauce under layers of sliced red potatoes, rosemary, grilled chicken and goat cheese wins this pie a gold star.
The best in Sac – Paesano's is my favorite place to eat in Sacramento. The food is excellet and the prices are great. My favorite is the baked pasta and the paeasanos insalata.
Pretty good – Very good food for the price. Nice place to start of the evening. Only serve beer and wine, no hard stuff.
Place can get pretty loud.
The pasta is to die for! – I don't live in Sacramento anymore, but I wish I did just so I could eat Paesano's pasta. They make some of the best I've ever tasted.
