VERY SLOW AND VERY RUDE SERVICE – I PAID $50 DOLLARS TO GET IN TO THIS PLACE. THE SHOW WAS VERY SHORT, ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF SPLIT INTO TWO SETS. I WAITED 20-30 MINUTES EVERY TIME@THE BAR AND THE SERVICE WAS VERY RUDE. THEY WERN'T JUST RUDE TO ME, BUT EVERYONE I SAW BUYING DRINKS TOO. EPSPECIALLY THE GIRL WITH THE TATTOOS. I MIGHT GO BACK IF THERES A BAND I REALLY LIKE PLAYING, BUT I WONT BE HAPPY ABOUT IT.
Best bar / nightclub in Sacramento – This is the cleanest bar in town. Music is great, the staff are friendly, and the drink prices are very reasonable. I heard about it from friends, and we come here all the time now. It's different every night. Their web site is fantastic - you can totally tell what the entertainment is like. Get on their mailing list for news and deals. we've seen some great national acts, like James Hunter, Maria Muldaur, Devotchka... Why pay a fortune and sit 100 feet away at other places when you can see great acts up close. Also, their sound system is the best in town.
Dont really like it. – I got kicked out of their because my friend Sandpaper Pete did a back to the future knee slide across the dance floor as soon as we walked in. They took our 7 dollars each and kicked us out in 30 seconds and wouldnt give us our money back. Hes on suckramento if you want to tell him hes cool!
Description is decieving – I read the citysearch description before heading out to Marilyn's to see a friend who was performing there. I was not impressed-the description says that there are folding chairs surrounding the stage, and I took that to mean Dress Casual!
There are no folding chairs in sight at this bar! The stage is surrounded by nice tall black tables and bar stools, and the people there were all dressed nicely-no jeans and t-shirts. This may be different on different nights, but I was very impressed with the quality and the atmosphere. The drinks were great and we had a wonderful time relaxing to good music. There was also a small dance floor where a few people started dancing. A few more drinks and I would have been too...
Casual midtown blues bar for longtime loyal music fans and open-minded students. – In Short
This laid-back locals-only spot is frequented by daytime sports fans and nighttime live blues aficionados. A tiny stage is surrounded by folding chairs and oftentimes standing-room-only crowds, which can reach three-people thick against the long bar in the back. It's not uncommon for people to stake out territory for dancing in spite of the real-estate crunch. A PG-rated wall of shame hangs near the restrooms, and features regulars in spirited poses.
