This place is terrible. I would not even give it one star. The owner who took the order, was rude and did not know what he was doing. The food was bland to say the least, I asked for spicer salsa they brought me tapatio. I even had a buy one get one free coupon and have another one I will never use.
Great Downtown Mexican. Perfect service, and some very good recipes. We had a specialty Seafood Salad that is a hidden gem in Sac.
Should have listened to the worst nightmare. I was vistiting from out of town and stumbled on this place. If I had read the previous "nightmare" review, I would have been hesitant to go. The food was okay but the people were worse to deal with. Will never go there again. I am lucky that my card wasn't overcharged for a burrito.
Complete Nightmare. Some friends and I ate dinner there in September. I was charged $2,700.00 for a meal that should have cost me 27 dollars and still have yet to receive a refund. the manager has been a nightmare to deal with and completely innapropriate. I would never recommend eating here. The food is awful and the managment is worse. Eat there at your own risk of being overcharged and denied an immediate refund!!!!!!!!!!!

When I need cheering up, I drop into Taco Loco on J Street: the bright colors, the music, the delicious inexpensive food, the relaxed atmosphere, the spaciousness, all do it for me. The music is a bit loud, but it's an authentic mixture of Mexican, salsa, and even Spanish pop. The food is prepared quickly and the staff are friendly. There's a supply of the various free newspapers just inside the door, so you can read while you eat if you're alone. There is also a bar. I take people there for fast, good, inexpensive food in a happy, pretty place. For me, the secret appeal of Taco Loco is that it's the only place where I've found condiments that are tasty without being too spicy (most Mexican restaurants nowadays feature only the "hot" style, in contrast to the food that I ate when I lived in Mexico!).
I like one thing on the menu..... Whenever I got to Taco Loco I always order the "burrito estilo enchilada" which is one very large burrito smothered in dark red enchilada sauce, cheese, guacamoli and sour cream. If that doesn't sound good to you, stay away. I've tried some of the other menue items, such as the plain ol' burrito which was bland and cheese-less. The salads are ok. There is nothing authentic about the place, but I'm in mid-town sacramento, so what should i expect?
