oooogh – dont forget about the big tip , owner gonna kill u if u forget the tip i mean biiiiiiig tip !!!!!!!!! at my first time and Of course my last time that i was there for diner the old guy fallowed use to parking lot and asked about more tip , he said 5 dollar is not enough and he wanted 5 $ more :)))))) im not kidding this happened to one of my friend too .
The server told me F*** Y** ( cursed at me ) – Hello,
I have been trying to get into touch with the supervisor / owner by the name of Amina or Emina. I have been your customer for about 9 years now. I always received great customer service and was attracted to the present and calm atmosphere. On the other hand, recently I had the most uncomfortable, disrespectful and barbaric experiences with one of your severs.
About a month and half ago, I cam in with my fiancée and friend to have a nice lunch. The server was a young man ( he stated that the owner was his uncle ) he seated us, brought us our drinks and took our orders. We even received our food but we didn’t receive our salads and sides that we ordered . When we told him he brought everything out . ( No big deal ) I usually order, chicken kabob but this time I decided to try one of your stews. As I began eating I noticed the stew was not tasting right, and the meat was tasting not to its perfection. Maybe it was the seasonings that I wasn’t use to, but I no longer wanted the stew.
I called the server over, I told him about the situation he began to argue with me that the stew was fine and there was nothing wrong with it. He went back to check with the cooks and came back, he was being rude and told me “ everything is fine with the stew”… upon that my friend told him can we please speak to someone in charge, because you are being rude. He stated, that the owner was his uncle, so that is like talking to him. We told him, that we didn’t care who his uncle was, we just wanted to speak with someone else because he was very un-polite ( he kept raising his voice ) .
As he was leaving to get someone else, he said ( F*** YOU ) … upon that we were very shocked to hear this from a server who works for a restaurant. A the other servers came they tried to calm the situation. I told them what had happened, the server came back and began to lie that he didn’t say ( F*** YOU ) which was a complete lie, he tried to cover himself from getting into trouble. Than he stormed out of the restaurant, banging on your windows and scaring the living life out of me and my pregnant friend.
Your other servers, knew that me, my fiancée and my friend were regular customers and they tried to calm the situation. They state that he was just a young man, but the fact is that Famous Kabob is a restaurant and if your servers cant act right and don’t know about customer service they should not work with people. The servers tired to offer me something else and by that time I had lost my appetite and just wanted ot get out of your restaurant.
I WILL NEVER EVER COME BACK TO YOUR RESTAURANT, I HAVE TOLD MY OTHER FIRNEDS ABOUT WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND I TOLD PEOPLE FROM THE ARABIC AND PERSIAN COMMUNITIES.
I’m sorry that this is along story, but you need to watch who you have working for you, all the young man had to do is give me something else our bill was over $80 anyways. Not to mention, the next day I had an upset stomach and I really think that it was from the stew that I didn’t like.
If your server thinks, just because his uncle is the owner, that gives him the right to behave that way than he needs some serious help. This is not Persia/Iran, I come from another country that I very similar to your culture and that is not the way to act toward customers.
Till this day, I have not spoken to anyone in charge , the people in your restaurant did not give me the correct number.
great food and great service – my co worker has been trying to get me to try this place and i'm so glad i did. i use to eat at the royal cafe in san jose which had the best persian food in town. bar none famous kabab is even better. great flavor in the beef kabobs.egg plant appetizer was delicious. but the rice is out of this world. i can eat the riice alone. they spice it with a nice saffron flavor. great service adds to the wonderful experience.
Famous Kabobs made me have a foodgasm – My husband and I happened into Famous Kabobs one Friday night in the mood to try something different. It was fabulous! We've been back twice and have never been disappointed. The waiter made excellent suggestions the first time we went. I haven't liked the taste of lamb in the past, but these little lamb chops were superb! They melted in my mouth like butter! The basmati rice with fresh saffron is delicious, and the salad has a fabulous vinaigrette that's not too overpowering. On our most recent visit, I tried the boneless/skinless chicken kebab.... I have to say, it was the best chicken I've ever had. I highly recommend this place for atmosphere, cleanliness, service, and delightful meals. They're a little pricey but SO worth it. Spend the money, try this place. If you don't like it, either you went in on a bad day (which I can't imagine), or there's something wrong with you! One of the things that adds to the ambiance is that they bake their own pita right there in the dining room, so it's always fresh and hot, and oh so delicious!
good persian – Though in an unfortunate dingy strip mall, the restaurant has made recent renovations. The meals are simple, mainly a meat and rice fare. I like the stews, however. I also like the pre meal lavash with herbs and feta cheese. The meals are pricey but you do get a huge portion of rice.
Not Impressed – My boyfriend and I went there for lunch one afternoon. I ordered the eggplant appetizer which was like a puree with yogurt over it. The presentation was lacking, and the appetizer came out luke warm. The food was decent but for the prices, not a value. The service was over-solicited and we felt uncomfortable. The atmosphere is beautiful inside, but sadly the small shopping center it is in is trashy.
Excellent Persian food – My wife and I have been to Famous Kabobs several times and have taken guests. The food is authentic and delicious. Persian cooking is famous for its stews. If you are not familiar with this cuisine, you may be most tempted by the marinated meat: grilled kabobs, lamb chops and ribs, and they are outstanding. But I would recommend that you be a little daring. Try the stewed lamb shank or chicken served over rice and other savory dishes. They are also excellent and uniquely Persian. You will be amazed and delighted by the flavors.
We love it!!!! :) – We and my homie have been going here for 2 years now and we love it! Very good Persian food with a nice Persian atmosphere. We recommend that everyone try it!!
Good Food – Went once and was very pleased. Will be back again.
