The Scene
The doors to this laid-back beach bar are in constant motion most nights of the week. Tiny purple lights strung across the ceiling light cast a lethargic gleam on the sleek wood floors. Grab a seat on a barstool near the expansive windows and keep an eye on the nightlife, as the evening grows old. Five nights a week, rock, ska and cover bands take to the stage. Wednesday and Sunday are devoted to locals who, with microphone in hand, flex their vocal chords for karaoke.
The Draw
For interested bachelors and bachelorettes, Harry O's absolutely radiates potential for exchanging digits and/or hooking up. Not for the rowdy college crew, the regulars here have graduated from the frat-boy scene and desire a more mellow hang. It's still Manhattan Beach, though, so expect to see a more sophisticated beach bum--flip-flops and sun-visors are a definite no-no after dark.

I've been here a couple of times now. It is quite laid-back and, that is good. The chicks are cute (for the most part) and the place is comfortable. It's got a slower pace than most clubs. If you're looking for a mid-tempo party place without a lot of pretention - this is good.

Live music, booze, and a beach crowd is what you'll find. That can be good or bad. A rare casual dance spot in LA, I've stumbled into Harry O's and found a lot of guys and gals having a genuine good time. I've also stumbled in and found the girls to be limited and cheesy, and they guys hounding and drooling. Highly recommended if you hit it on the right night!
