Unsatisfied with manager and front desk staff. – First, I have to say that I did NOT get an eye examination here so I am not commenting on the quality of the doctors here.I would like to comment on the service I received when ordering a pair of prescription sun glasses. It was HORRIBLE!! I found a pair I liked, my prescription is pretty easy. Of course I wanted all the extras, progressive lenses, polarized, etc. They told me it would take a week to 10-days. THREE WEEKS later, it still was not ready! They said it had to be shipped from New York! I would think there are labs a lot closer than the east coast! In my opinion, this Optometry shop, sends their orders to the cheapest lab to maximize profits. I was reading some other comments here and I have friends told me. that it seemed as though there were a LOT of fees. The last time they had an eye exam (at a different eye doctor), they were not charged separately for the reading glasses prescription and for the exam exam. I don't know if this is standard procedure, but they were a $150 addition to the co-pay for their regular exam. Yikes!.I ask myself if this is even legal? or is there a scam going on at this place?.
Unsatisfied customer – Rude, incompetent, and uncaring. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with unfriendly faces, scowls, and bad attitudes.
It appears that any patient to them is a nuisance to even be within their space. What bothers me most about this office is that they have forgotten about the value of the customer (or patient - but don't forget it's still a business and we can choose where we go!).
It's as if they are doing you a favor to even see you. I was treated like I was bothering them to even walk in the door. The attitude of courtesy and friendliness is long gone in this office.
Only to get worse, I later found that they billed me for services that I didn't even have done. When I called the office for clarification and correction, I never got answers and was only passed around to someone else who could only help me with this response - "I'm going to have to let you talk to the Office Manager with that." The manager and billing person were never around to talk to me for some reason..... Go figure!!!
I spoke to "Jeff" on 8/4/2011 I was told by him he will check what the charges to my insurance were for..He was post to call me to my cell phone on the same day after 5:00 pm. I have not hear anything from Mr: Jeff the office coordinator.
Was this incompetent office staff or a deceitful office staff? That is still to be determined.
Unfortunately, I can't recommend this Bay Eyes Office to anyone.
Yes they got $ 35.00 dollars from me as a co-pay when I was not post to have a co-pay because my insurance cover 100% my eyes exam.Also I left the eye glasses prescription at the front desk because they tried to sell me the prescription for 30.00 dollars.But they are going to loss more when i pass all this information to my friends and all the doctor offices around Foley,Alabama
My insurance was billed as if they saw me as an emergency when it was only an eye check up.I'm Italian and I have olive skin and black hair the woman in the check out window don't even looked me at the eyes when she spoke to me.I was treated unfair in that office and I will follow a complaint with the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.
great place to get your glasses – I walked right in and was greeted and taken care of
right away. The person helping me was very knowledge-
able and helped me made a good decision on the lens
and agreed that my frames were still in good condition to
use if I wanted to. Explained the advantage of the Kodax
non glare coating and then said they would call when my
lens came in. In a week she called and said they were
in and set me up for an appointment that very day.
I was very pleased with the service as well as the way the
lens were put into my frames. Thank you and I will come back again when I need to get prescription
My family of five has been satisfied for over 14 years – I'm not sure what that guy is raving about. It doesn't seem like anyone would make him happy. And why would you need 15 pairs of glasses?
Anyway. I have been a customer of Bay Eyes for over 14 years now and have brought in my entire family. My children love the doctors, nurses and the eye glass ladies. I had an incident once last year when I really wanted a pair of Juicy Couture sunglasses. I didn't listen to my eyeglass lady telling me my lenses wouldn't look good in the frames and ordered them anyway. She had them made and we had a big laugh about it. But on the serious side, I learned to listen to her because she is a professional and knows her job. And I didn't have to pay for those glasses at all and I'm happy with the pair she picked for me. So instead of listening to someone that has "15" pairs of glasses go experience Bay Eyes for yourselves. I will continue to do business with them for many more years.
Cathy does not tell the truth, Do Not Trust What She Say's! – They receive no rating from me!
Do not purchase any type of lens from Bay Eyes; they do not stand behind their product (that probably goes for everything they sell). After spending over $400 for a pair of lens with scratch resistant and anti reflective coatings on them, the lens scratched immediately, I took them back and Cathy said let's send them back and have them redo them and if that doesn't work, well send them back to have them take the anti reflective coating off sense that?s what is causing the scratching, so we did, the same thing happened, I went back to have her send them back and she said I would have to purchase a new pair because they will only warrant one redo, she told me I would have to purchase another pair with out the anti reflective coating, why wouldn't she send them back the first time to have to anti reflective coating removed if she new I was going to have the same problem and have to purchase new lens, she just didn't care about someone who owns more than 15 pair of glasses and was going to have all of them updated with my new prescription. I am not a happy customer and will tell everyone I know not to use Bay Eyes in any city. They will lie to you straight to your face. DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING BAY EYES TELL YOU BECAUSE IT?S A LIE!
