Very, Very Dissapointed!!!! :( – I live in the are and go to this restaurant every now and then and it's been a while since I've been. The portions keep getting smaller and smaller and the service was just horrible. When we finally got seated, the waitress walked around us I know 3 or 4 times and then went and served another table that had just been seated next to us before she came to our table, It seemed like they were short staffed or something. The portions are small, if you order the combination platter, you only get like 5 crab claws and 4 or 5 shrimp or whatever else you order and pay about 16 or 17.00 for the plate, I was just very unhappy with the service and it will be a long time before I go back if I do, there are too many competitors out there now, that have great food and great service!!!
Stay Away – The food was good but the treatment that I and my girlfriend received was shocking , hurtful and unbelievable in 2010.We were not made to feel welcomed at all .My girlfriend brought to my attention, after we had left the restaurant ,that our waitress hesitated as she approached our table. If I had known about the waitresses actions, which I did not see,I would have left the restaurant without eating anything. At this point it is important to tell you that their in nothing abnormal about the appearance of myself or my girlfriend. The only thing that distinguished us from the rest of the patrons was the color of our skin. When I attempted to pay for our meals I stood in front of the cash register with money in my hand, for several minutes and was ignored.Their were three people standing behind the counter that could that could have taken my money. When we left no one even said ,thank you or please come again. As long as I live, I will never return to the Lighthouse Restaurant as a customer.
FRESH SEAFOOD.Best, biggest crab claws on MS-AL coast. – Well worth the short drive from all directions. Reasonable prices; generous portions. Bring your camera and take an after-eating walk about the working seafood industry town; drive around the picturesque locale. As of July 15, 2009, hours are M-S 11am to 9pm. Closed Sundays. Daily "blue plate" specials M-F; call for lunch menu. Just good food, including comfort vegetables. And yep, they've got sweet iced tea. Ask if they have the crab claws; they'll tell you over the phone. They are the biggest on the coast. Bannana pudding is made from scratch. Good steaks, too. Everyone, including families, welcomed by friendly, helpful wait staff and owners and friendly diners, too. Strike up an acquaintance with another couple in line and share a table during the busy times. Usual wait is about 15 minutes in evening; sometimes a little more if you're a large group or you don't come early. Put this number in your cell phone because you might forget that while the quaint, old restaurant is in Bayou La Batre, AL., the phone number is an Irvington, AL. listing. Hope your expectations are met as well as our have been over the years! Goooood eatin' on the Gulf Coast!
