Horrible Service and Poor Management – The service at this new restaurant was awful! The new ownership is inexperienced and I definitely will not be going to this location again, nor do I recommend it to anyone. Such a shame too, because I enjoyed the food served at the Redondo Beach location 15 years ago and was looking forward to it.

very good food! – They must have opened about a year or so ago at this location. The food is great. Their signature dish with the sauce to dip is very good but a little bit spicy for me. Overall very nice restaurant on the waterfront.

Just like I remembered... – I love coming here!! All these bad reviews makes me wonder if someone put them up to it, just saying... I had a wonderful experience, food, service, ambiance, it wasn't lacking in anything. I felt the recipe was exactly as I remembered it, but the shrimp were much better and bigger. I had no problems with service at all!!!! However I'm a firm believer you get what you give, so perhaps.........

Anyway, if you're an ol Killer Shrimp fan, you will be happy their back. Hope this helps

Best Service, and Best Food in L.A.!!!! – Unbelievable how awesome this place is. Dont listen to these A holes that are bashing the place. I have eaten at this restaraunt more than anyone, so I have the right to be the one critic that you listen to and trust. I have had everything on the menu, and it is prepared absolutely perfect everytime. The menu has expanded, and they even have the best Pork Chop on Earth now!!!! I never thought i would go to a sea food joint and have a pork chop, but it is unbelievable!!!! Anyhow, if you havnt tried the place, come on down. The staff will treat you perfect, and the price is right! You get 5 star food, for a very slim price. The chef is a master, and he and his crew, are right there for you to view, and see your food being prepared. This is also one of the few places that you will go to, that the owner of the restaraunt is also present. That says a lot..... This place cares, and i challenge you to find better service, better food, or a friendlier staff, at a price you can afford. All the haters that left bad reviews on here, Thank You for not coming back... Saves room for us honest people!!! Gods Speed, Rob

HORRIBLE SERVICE. AVERAGE FOOD – I was extremely disappointed in the service. Waitress never brought the baked potato. I reminded her, then waited 10 minutes to receive it. By that time, I had finished 1/2 the meal. She never came over to ask how the meal was nor even asked if I ever needed water in my 1/2 full glass.

The manager comped the potato and then with a transparent smile asked if I wanted some water.

BTW, shrimp was bland in the heavily buttery broth.

This restaurant is on my NO recommend list.

I SHALL NOT RETURN – I ordered the original shrimp bowl with bread. For some reason it was not as good as I remember. The broth was watery. It lacked the complex spiciness I remember. There was also an oil or fat component that was missing. I tried to remedy this by adding butter myself. But that cut the spiciness.

I've always had great meals at the Valley and old MDR location. So good that I always looked forward to returning. I will not return to their new location for the food. GREAT location, though. Maybe I should try their drinks in the bar and just enjoy the view of the Marina.

Great food, but I've had better service EVERYWHERE else – If I was basing this review solely on the food, it would be 5 stars easily. However, sadly the service is so poor here that I can't help but voice my opinion on this.

Food: Amazing. 'Nuff said. If my review was based solely on this, it'd be 5 stars.

Atmosphere: The bar area where I eat every time I come here has music WAY too loud where everyone else in the room has to talk over it. That and the acoustics in there are HORRIBLE. But not taking off any stars for this.

Service: I've eaten here 4 times and each time the service has gotten worse and worse. I've seen my beer sitting up waiting for the waitress to pick it up & I've been neglected at the bar for so long that I want to reach around and pour myself another one and just tell the bartender. However, today's service took the cake. First, our waitress walks up REEKING of cigarettes and talking like she's extremely hung over, mumbling her words and speaking so softly we had to ask her to repeat everything she said. We put in our order of beers, shrimp pasta bowls, and some appetizers. Our waitress was so busy putting the happy hour cards on tables that our appetizers came out before our first round of drinks. As she's putting down my beer, she spills it on the chair next to me, all over my sweatshirt I put down there. No apology, no napkins, nothing from her. Good. Our food comes, and I ask the waitress to switch one of the TVs to the UCLA football game. She says she'll get right on it. We eat, she comes back about 3 times and asks how the food is and how we're doing, but nothing on switching the game over. She then starts putting candles on every table, including ours while we're eating. We finish, the bus boys clear our table, and we wait. 10 minutes go by, she doesn't come back. 15 minutes go by, she finally comes back. I hand her my credit card to expedite the process. Boy was I wrong. It took her TEN minutes to go back, run my card, and give me my receipt. Honestly, you have to try hard to suck this bad at being a waitress. It's sad that eating at Killer Shrimp is such an ordeal because I love the food here. If they ever decide to step up their service game, this would be a great restaurant. Until then, I'll only eat here when I know I have an extra hour to waste dealing with the wait staff.

Absolutely delicious! – I am a huge fan of shrimp so I recently went online to find local restaurants that have great shrimp dishes. . . thank god I found Killer Shrimp! I got the Shrimp w/ rice and my girlfriend got the the Lobster Macaroni and Cheese. Both were great, but I think I would stick with the shrimp with rice. It was spicy without burning my mouth. I think we're definitely going to be regulars at this one!
