Casual dining at it's best – This is the restaurant you go to when you and your spouse drag yourself in the door, look each other in the eye, and realize that if you're waiting for them to cook, you'll both starve first. Then someone suggests, "Let's go to Alejo's" and everyone smiles, a ray of light pierces the darkness, and you see that life isn't so difficult after all.

Jeans, tee shirts, sweats are appropriate attire. Or you can just order to go. But the environment is warm and friendly. People are laughing. You can bring in your own bottle of wine, and the 7-11 next door carries a suprisingly diverse and high quality stock just for this purpose. They serve warm slices of fresh bread along with bowls of olive oil with lots of diced garlic for dipping.

More an "unwind from the 9-5" than a first-date-impress-your-boss kind of place. Great pasta and basic sauces served fast. Good portions for reasonable prices.

Lots of Food/Tons of Garlic – I agree with the reviewer below. This is a good place with great value for your money, but 9.7 is too high unless you would rate garlic a 10. The food is good. The prices are low.

Delish Italian Food! – This is our favorite Italian food restaurant in Los Angeles. Alejo's dishes are freshly prepared and have a home-made taste to them. I highly reccomend that you try this place atleast once, I reccomend the chicken picatta. All of their dishes are good however. It is near LAX, which is good if you are catching a flight or picking someone up. You will not be disappointed.

9.7?!? I think not! – When I saw the 9.7 rating for this restaurant, I immediately called up a friend to suggest we try it out. We both love Italian, and a 9.7 is damn impressive....or so we thought! First of all, the "Italian" Restaurant looks like a cheap fast food joint. The reviews warn that it isn't pretty, but I didn't expect it to be downright ghetto looking. As for the food, the pastas are just very heavily infused with garlic...and just because it has a ton of garlic, it doesn't mean it's authentic!! And forgive me, but it was rather laughable to see some people drinking a bottle of wine with their pasta in this run down looking fast food "Italian" joint....it's like seeing people drinking wine at the mall with their food from Sbarro.

This place is ok for fast food pasta, but the rating should be an 8.8-9.0, NOT 9.7.

Great Food – After finding Alejo's on this site and reading the reviews, I decided to take a stab at it and try it out. Wow what a deal it was. As I found to be true in other reviews, it is located in a very unique location....a strip mall next to a 7-11. But don't let that stop you. The food was GREAT and VERY affordable. This was the third restuarant I've tried off of this site and once again I was not disappointed, especially with the price. Dinner for two (good size portions), non alcoholic drinks and salads it came up to less than thirty dollars. No complaints here check it out for yourself.

Neighborhood Italian – Don't let the outside fool you. It's in a strip mall and not much to look at but the food is EXCELLENT. Pastas are made fresh and they have delicious bread and great daily specials. This is a garlic lover's paradise. Service is quick and friendly, but on weekend nights you'll definitely have to wait. Parking can also be difficult. But it's definitely worth it. It's fun for a date too. It's not quiet and romantic, but fun and lively, with people bustling around constantly. It has its own unique charm.

Garlic – Finding a parking space will be painful, the wait perhaps long, and you'll take one look at this place (located in a strip mall near a 7-11) and think twice about entering but don't let the challenges keep you from entering this garlic eden. This place has awesome pasta, great bread with olive oil and garlic dip, and is CHEAP. It's fun to sit at the family style tables and actually chat with your fellow neighbors.

So garlicky, so good... – If you want to go to a place with fresh bread and accompanying garlic-infused oil for dipping, a plate of fresh hot pasta, tasty Chopped Italian salad, and good service, then Alejo's is the place for you. At Alejo's it's all about the food!!!!! The ambience isn't your stereotypical Italian restaurant with the "bring-the-outdoors-in" type of feeling, but who cares with food this hearty and flavorful!? By the way, the Westchester location serves alcohol.

Plan to fast for one day, then go to Alejo's!

Garlic, Garlic & More Garlic – Oh lord, if you love garlic, you need to check out Alejo's. Sure the walls have a tacky 70's style decorations and ugly tablecloths/carpet, forget all that, you're in for some value. Before you can start eating, you'll be gazing at a dish of olive oil with loads of garlic for the bread. I once made a meal out of that and had to the main course home. I recommend the chicken parmegiana. Keep in mind, if you're on a date, you may not wanna eat here... garlic is prevalent in every dish. Give this place a shot... italian food-enthusiasts, you may not like this.... but if you're the type like me to eat italian once in a while, check out Alejo's.

a great place to carbo load – the servings are huge and the pasta is very good. the place is bare minimum. i guess that could be part of the charm. although the prices are a bit on the high side for the setting. you can bring your own wine and there's no corkage fee, which is cool. our server was very friendly and the rest of the staff was right there with everything.
