Great Italian Food – The service was great and the waiters were very attentive. I went for a large party of 25 and I really enjoyed myself. The food was pretty tasty and nice and pippin hot. I loved the bread they served OMG!!! I could eat that all day lol I will definitely go again and take a date this time.
amazing food value – I am amazed that anyone can offer such great service, food quality, and generous portions at reasonable prices.
Even the table chianti is superb!
i love this place yum yum – i love this place..perfect atmosphere; just a few footsteps to the beach/venice beach walk..garlic knots are served nice and hot nonstop..the sangria is delicious and the portion of food is ridiculous..you can order half or whole orders. I usually order full orders to bring some of the goodies home since we drive from the valley. nice outdoor dining area.
I love this place! – I've never had a bad experience at C&Os. The food is great (garlic rolls are SO GOOD). Big portions, all pastas are really good.
Getting seated is a little confusing sometimes. There's two locations next to each other, and you never know where to ask. If you're there for dinner, the lighting is kind of dim.
Garlic Bread Rolls are amazing & addicting – I love C&O's! It's great for large groups (I had my graduation dinner here & my friend had her wedding rehersal dinner here), portions are huge, garlic rolls are amazing, the wine by the glass is awesome and I always leave with leftovers. Fun atmosphere & quality food!
RUDE – This place is rude. The make a big deal about large parties. Said they would seat us if we ordered fast. Was practically pushed out the door. Not a good place to go to relax. The food is not so great as well. It's definitely not worth the stress of getting in and being rushed...the entire time. Better off going up the street to Hinanos for a delicious $4 hamburger and an ice cold beer served from someone who's not rushing you out the door. A BIG thumbs down.
There for a birthday party and was rushed thru our dinner – We were there with 20 people for a birthday party and we were told we had to order right away and rush thru our dinner. Not very enjoyable.
Garlic Rolls - That's Amore – Sometimes, you're just in the mood for a nice dinner atmosphere. C&O provides that. It's the perfect place for a warm evening dinner by the beach.
Usually, the only thing holding me back from trekking to C&O for dinner is the fact that I know it's going to take me a while to find parking and even longer to wait for a table. BUT, in the end, it's usually worth it.
Should you choose not to take a walk to the pier while you wait, make sure you grab some garlic rolls while you wait. They're the best. Go ahead and fill up on them - there's no use saving room for your dinner because you're not going to finish it anyway. It's Italian, of course the portions are large. The food is acceptable for the price, which is partially why I'm giving it only four stars. However, it's always nice knowing you're going to have leftovers for lunch the next day, so you're basically getting two meals in one.
Lastly, make sure you have a glass of wine ready for when it comes time to sing "That's Amore"!
Yummy – Hmmm... I think I had the fettuccine last time I was here. I really can't remember because I was busy stuffing my face with the delicious garlic rolls. I think I ate about half a dozen in all!
I love this place, and have been here a dozen times, but I never come for the food, the only thing memorable for me and keeps me coming back are the garlic rolls. Yum!
oh ya, and love the great location too, right by the beach.
What happened?? – For years, C & O has been the tourist trap that locals can't help but love. Italian singing in the garden patio, glorious toasts of cheap wine, decent food made delicious by the setting. Not having been since before the holidays, I looked forward to an enjoyable night at the ol' C & O. The day ran long, however, so we settled for a take-out order. I phoned in the order and, immediately after hanging up the phone from placing the order, realized I had ordered the wrong entree and phoned back to correct my order. Imagine my surprise when after being placed on hold by a rather abrupt waitress a manager, Flavio I believe his name is, picked up the phone and started yelling - literally - at me for attempting to change my order. I explained that I had just placed the order less than a minute before calling back, to which he yelled "It was THREE minutes ago." Despite my explanation that I had been on hold for 2 minutes, he continued yelling that I should nevertheless take the order and eat it the next day if I did not want it tonight. At that point, I canceled my order, to which he responded with increased rage and fumbling expletives. Whether this man is the owner or manager, I do not know, but I do know that I will never visit this restaurant again as long as he is there, despite more than 10 years of patronage.
