They steal your money!!!! – I would not recommend this place to anyone anymore. Used to go there about ten years ago but the food does not taste as good as it did before.
They ran out of some of the items which was part of a particular dish (macaroni pie). The curry was not well done. Watered down would be the best description. The Sorrel was awful. I get better food in my own kitchen.
Also, they added an extra $5 on my Visa which was NOT authorized. I beleive the term for that is FRAUD!!!!
Can't even reach them for reimbursement.
i love this place, everytime i get a chanceci go if for nothing esle their curry chicken rotis and sorell, omg you got to try the flyfish and cou'cou, but don't go on mon. it's closed had to find that out the hard lol, but do go it's worth it.kissies mye:)
Best Roti in LA! Great TRINIDADIAN food. – I travel the world and will always look for home cooked food. I was fortunate to find this fine establishment in Los Angeles. The food is SUPERB and the service is as you would want anywhere; SUPERB and prompt.
The kitchen is efficient and very clean and the quality of food for the price is on par with a restaurant of this type. I enjoy taking my family there for a taste and reminder of home and it is always full of friendly patrons who all seem to know each other and who welcome the new customer with that West Indian warmth.
Highly recommended and there is ample parking.
No longer great since they changed ownership! – I used to love this place but the food has gone downhill since they changed ownerships!
The roti is still good but the patties are nowhere near as great as they used to be. I am no longer a regular and I am looking for a new a Carribean place that serves "Authentic" food!
Places like Cha Cha Cha need not be suggested but if anyone knows of a great place that serves authentic island food please forward me the info! Thanks.
Best Roti in the West! – Not a fancy restaurant, just a small local joint with great food. Take some to go, left overs rock!
a definite yes in case you are looking for a real caribbean – my second attempt to write a review about this really authentic trinidadian and tobagonian food find...my first one went straight into a system error...this place is kept very down to earth and simple, so in case you are looking for a fancy place to take a date to, this is not it...
unfortunately i arrived 10minutes before closing (thursday night right before 8pm), so the only dish that i was able to get was the curry chicken, the portions are quite big and the food is really delicious.i bet all the other dishes are really good and authentic too! i assume almost all of their business is from the neighborhood but i have to say i was really warmly welcomed as an obvious outsider.
