A great hole-in-the wall – I love Thai food... I've been to Thailand... eaten at some of the best restaurants in Bangkok... I've eaten at nearly every Thai spot on the west side. T's holds its own with the best of 'em. For the price and location (one block off the promenade, and across from a public parking structure), T's is a great spot to have a casual Thai meal. Plus, the food is usually ready within 5-10 minutes after the order is placed.. these guys are FAST. I love the pad thai with tofu and the mint leaves with chicken. Definitely worth stopping in for a bite.
Colorful Thai restaurant beckons to Promenade shoppers with sidewalk seating, an ample menu and efficient service. – In Short
Possibly taking a cue from Starbucks, Thai restaurants have been popping up left and right in Southern California. There's a lot to choose from. To be successful, location is key, and this bright family-owned addition has struck gold in that respect. Just steps from the cluttered chaos of the 3rd Street Promenade, life--and dining--is far more relaxed, yet still easily accessible. Two or three tables decorate the sidewalk in front (when it's balmy) while another handful await inside, amidst warm accented walls and neon plates and bowls. Even the menu, offering the normal rice, noodle and curry fare, is a sort of sonic orange. It's these types of aesthetically cheery, against-the-grain touches that set T's apart from the standard Thai pack.
Above average mom-and-pop Thai restaurant – It is neither terrible nor the best in town like the other reviews indicate. The curries are good. The fried banana dessert was not good. I didn't like the batter they used for it. It's a mom-and-pop restaurant with average ambience and service. For the cheap prices, the food is not bad at all.
Where the T stands for "Terrible" – Thai T's food is bland, has no soul, and is disappointing. The panang curry sauce is like colored water; very little curry flavor or spice. Their soup is also dull. Most Thai restaurants use fragrant Jasmine rice; Thai T's rice is the plain, cheap kind & only helps make their lackluster dishes even duller. Their Rad Na Noodles are OK; not exciting, but, at least, OK.
Best in Town – I LOVE Thai food, but I haven't found a restaurant in my neighborhood that I liked =( I just tried T's Thai (that's what they call it now) and it was really good. So try it now... you won't be dissapointed!
