Strong on weight training, cardio – I've been a member here for 4 years. Staff is friendly and helpful, but the true strength lays in the free weights and heavy duty machines. If glitz and flash are your measurements for a gym, this is not the place for you. If you want to train hard, not wait for equipment, and need a well-maintained gym, this is it.
this place is a weightlifters paradise! is small and quiet, but has everything you'll need. instead of spending their budget on flat screen tvs and other gadgets to try and entice the casual gym goer, they spend it on more equipment and machines that matter. their weight section is big, theres never any wait, and the staff is attentive and nice. (although, the dumbbells only go up to 90 lbs) if your serious about working out, not hanging out, this is your gym.
This budget gym trims the fat off its patrons at streamlined facilities. – The Scene
Most Ballys stick to the basics for their design. Televisions broadcast silently above multiple rows of cardio machines; mirrored walls act as the primary decorative components. But thanks to high-energy television ads and low-impact membership premiums, this national fitness chain has steadily attracted a clientele bent on saving money while losing weight or gaining muscle.
Using fairly standard strength-training equipment and/or racks well-stocked with free weights, the best of the trainers here, who are classified at four different levels, can be as skillful as those found at costlier gyms. For group classes, signature exercise options include Spinning and Powerflex, as well as a number of patented routines inspired by Tae Kwon Do.
HORRIBLE GYM!!!!! – Bally Total Fitness has a very small facility and my overpriced membership only allowed me to use one facility. The gym was poorly maintained, the last time it rained the roof was leaking inside the gym. They won't allow you to cancel your membership even if you hate the gym, and when your membership is scheduled to end they continue to credit your account even after you canceled. I would never recommend this gym to anyone! I am sure they will be out of business in the next few years.
Out of Date – This club has equipment that is out of date and very poor quality compared with other Bally's clubs in similar markets. The club lacks up to date cardio equipment and there are frequently long waits. This club is old and needs some serious help.
