Kept seeing diff med person everytime, Which meant explaining situation / condition everytime...never received calls back- waited for ever at appt's..finally found other doc office
Horrible place doctor Irizarry, Maritza is rude and only cares about her needs will NEVER go back or recommend this place.
Completely Unacceptable – The day my son was born the nurse threw a book full of Peds. to chose from and I chose Dr. Irizarry. She had an office near my home and my mom said she used to take my sister there. I scheduled an appt for the metro location and somehow ended up at the maryvale location. It was very dirty, there was hardly any room, and the staff spoke almost no english. We finally got in to see the doctor and we never saw Dr. Irizarry. We wanted to get our son circumcized and ended up calling for weeks to get ahold of "Lulu", who never was available and never returned phone calls. Finally we were told we couldn't do it until there was a group of 3-5 children. My other problems have been with the staff who scheduled our appts. One was for a Monday, when apparently their office is closed (and I received NO phone call letting me know) and just recently they scheduled his 6 month check up 2 days before he turns 6 months and told me they would have to reschedule or the insurance would not cover it. I am finally fed up with this office! I'd like to say something about Dr. Irizarry, but in the 6 months we've been there I have yet to see her even once! I will be taking my son elsewhere, and I suggest you do the same.
dont waste your time – Never going back here again. The staff is unprofessional, the place is cheap and there was a dead roach in the room /=
left message for doctor – i was in the area looking for new pediatrician that was closer to my home. i found sunshine. I called them to talk to the doctor. when i did call i got a young hispanic barely speaking young girl
when i called it was as if no one had ever called the doctors office before and wanted to know the patients name and my name and why i was calling. i said, i would like to speak to the doctor on duty. she finally stated that the doctor was busy and that i leave my number and the doctor will return my call. i did that and u gas been three days and no one returned my call. on the third day, i called them back. All my calls were going to voice mail stating the hours of operation. i tried several times throughout the working day and was not able to get anyone to pick up. this is a sad thing because now the closest SUNSHINE PED that we would like to use is not available to be called and is not very good with customers calling on the phone
Wow – We had schedule an appointment for both our children to see Dr. Irizarry. We were told we were going to be seen in the Glendale office and I called to confirm and the appointment was in the Maryvale office, so the gentlemen I spoke with to schedule the appointments mislead me, regardless my children needed to get their vaccines before school started. So, we kept the appointment. Upon coming inot the office the waiting room was far to small for the amount of children and parents that where in there. We then signed in and waited an hour and 10 minutes prior to being called back. When we were called back the young lady who took us back did not introduce her self and was not ready with the charts or prepared and asked that we bare with her. She then took the vitals in the hall way by the scale had them do an eye exam of a gloss shiney board that was hard to read with the glare. We then proceeded into a room where we waited another 35-45 minutes before the nurse practioner came in. We asked where the docotor was and that we were told we being seeing Dr. Irizarry. She stated she was sorry, but the appointments where scheduled with her and that Dr. Irizarry was in the other office. (the office that is closer to our house and the one we were told our appointment was intially in!!!!!!) I told the nurse practioner that it was nothing against her they could see her, but the communication in this office is horrible. She stated she would let the office manager know that we were frustrated. I than called that next day left day and left a message for the office manager and got no return call. The nurse that came into give my children their vaccines was wearing no gloves, I had to stop her and ask her "you are going to wear gloves, right" she had to leave the room to get the gloves!!!! There were No gloves in the room. She gave the vaccines in the wrong area of the arms leaving my son with a softball size red and hot to touch bump. I am so disappointed.
Highly trained provider and staff, goes beyond to make sure the parent and child are taken care of – Being new to AZ is it hard to find a doctor. You look in the phone book or call your insurance and you get a long list. My best decision was to see Dr. Irizarry and Sunshine Pediatrics. My child has asthma and was having difficulty breathing on a Friday afternoon/early evening, and we were not rushed out due to it being a Friday. They actually ended up staying late to help treat my child. They made sure that the medications working and also made sure the he was comfortable. They always and reassuring words. They provided us with some samples as well as being able to walk out with a nebulizer to take care of my son and not have to worry about how I was going to get either the machine or medication. They made sure that I was comfortable to utilizing the nebulizer. Having a child that cannot breath is a very scary experience but knowing the doctors you are utilizing is extremely educated and caring makes all of the difference. Her bedside manner is A+. To anyone who is looking for quality and caring in a doctor's office look no further.
Caring staff – I am new to the area as well as being a new mom and Sunshine Pediatrics made me feel like one of the family. When I made the appointment they explained that since it was are first visit that there was paper work to fill out in addition that this visit would take longer since the provider and staff needs to gather a basely in order to treat my child appropriately. Having an explaination of why things happen makes everything follow much smoother. I was told what I need to bring to the office in order for this process to go as quickly as possible. Coming prepared makes it easier on everyone and knowing what to bring makes it easier on a parent. I was treated with respect. All the staff were not only courtsey and respectful to me but also to all of the other patients while I was there. Everyone had a smile on there face and were truely happy to be working at this office. This in itself is a rare experience. We were taken at our appointment time as well. The staff was knowledge in my child's condition and made sure that they answer all of my questions. I did not feel rushed. I have returned a couple of occasion to be treated just like a family member that they really cared about. This is rare.
Caring Pediatric Provider – My child has been at Dr. Irizarry's practice on a number of occassions and we have always be treated with kindness and respect. The first visit always takes the most time and the practice did inform us of that upfront. Both the medical assistants and the providers were very caring and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this practice. The staff wanted to make sure that I understood how to take care of my child's condition. Staff was able to communicate with me very well especially since I do not speak Spanish. This is a caring providers office that wants to ensure that the patient and family are taken care of appropriately.
