Not your average tourist gift shop, this Japan Town relic features a variety of fancy chopsticks, handcrafted tea sets, Samurai swords and, oh yeh, Japanese records. – In Short
Located across from the Japanese-American Museum, this gift and stationery store carries anything and everything from the Samurai days. Traditional songs strummed on the Biwa play as tourists search the emporium for items to remind them of their visit to Little Tokyo. The store's shelves are literally overflowing with paper fans, flower plates, aroma incense, imported toys, knife collections, colorful lanterns and other trinkets.
Where else can you find tea sets and swords all in one place? – In Short
While most of the items in the store would make great gifts, a lot of it you'll want to keep for yourself. Check out the array of tea sets; the Japanese paper lanterns that are sold separately but in a mind-boggling array of colors, shapes and sizes; the miniature Buddha and cat figurines; the piles of laser discs upstairs; and the stationery, key chains, cloth photo albums and other unclassifiable products.
