DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! – Every morning I drive by Moreno's and every morning I see the GIANT advertisement painted on the exterior glass that reads, "BREAKFAST BURRITOS, $3.99". I finally decided to stop in today and ask about the burritos. I was the first customer of the day and, after walking in and making eye contact with one of the employees, the young lady at the front didn't even greet me. I chalked this up to the fact that they were just opening up and she was trying to get everything prepared. Unfortunately, things got worse. I asked her politely, "What comes in your breakfast burrito?" Her response - straight-faced - "We don't have breakfast burritos anymore." (Keep in mind - this is a MEXICAN restaurant - open at 9:00 a.m.!) I informed her that, according to the sign out front of her building, her restaurant certainly DID sell them - to which she replied, "Oh yeah - we forgot to take down the sign. Sorry." She didn't even offer an alternative. She just watched me walk out of the restaurant. False advertising + Terrible service = TERRIBLE experience. I can't believe I wasted the 5 minutes of my day.
GROSS!!! – I ate here with my family, and this place was the grossest place i ever ate at in my life. I love soul food but this isn't the place to go. The chicken was nasty and so was the cornbread. I wouldn't go back there if it was free. Also she didn't have any pie, peach cobbler, ribs, and greens available.
Must-try sweet potato pie and peach cobbler!! – Had a jones for corn bread and finally popped in Soul in the Hole after wanting to try for a couple of years... Met owner Tony, who presented to me a LARGE and heavenly slice of corn bread! Came back the next day and tried her sweet potato pie... SUBLIME! The crust was so tasty, I was almost tempted to eat it! I went back tonight, after work, and bought more corn bread and a large order of peach cobbler (Tony ran out of it yesterday). I ate the whole thing as soon as I arrived home!! Again, the cobbler crust was delicious!!
I will be going back this weekend to try a meal or two... those ribs and chicken dishes people were having looked so delectable, and the aromas in the restaurant made me feel hungry... and I had just eaten two hours before!!
Thank you Tony!
