Wedding dress hunting ground for real-world brides on a budget. Princesses need not apply. – In Short
A chic, sleek boutique, it's not. But those willing to look carefully will likely find a big-time bargain. The staff is helpful and knows the merchandise but doesn't provide extensive one-on-one attention or advice. Stores (particularly on weekends) can be swamped with brides-to-be. David's specializes in beaded satin A-lines and simple lace sheaths that just hit the $500 mark. Most labels are tasteful but of medium-quality: Gloria Vanderbilt, Lady Eleanor, Oleg Cassini and the likes.

Set the right expectations.... – I've purchased dresses for various occasions through David's Bridal and always had a great experience. Set the right expectation for yourself...this is not a high-end boutique that serves you champagne in the waiting room. Great service with a staff spread thin but manage to do their best to serve you. Beth and her seamstress pal's are EXCELLENT. Fast...no nonsense...and get the job done. They WILL give you their opinion! Ha!

My recommendation is to use David's Bridal as a starting point to help set a benchmark on the type of dress that accentuates you.

I bought my wedding dress there after trying on over 100 dresses elsewhere. After I had all but given up...a salesperson who worked there for only 2 weeks pulled out ONE MORE dress....and that is the one I'm wearing this Summer!! :-)

The Bridezilla Machine – This place was an insult to visit. I don't think I saw real silk or real anything in that store-- just a lot of synthetic cookie-cutter dresses that made me look like a processed Bridezilla from the Bridezilla Machine. The dresses were outdated-- they think that if you come into that store you have no idea of what the high end designers are making; that you're too cheap to appreciate design and fashion. If I wanted to look like I was from 1984 I would have gone to Goodwill instead. Overpriced plastic.
