I'd read reviews on the their pastrami dip so decided to try it. It would have been delicious had it been made as described on the sign. I removed 10 pickle chips from it, there was no mustard on it and no au jus. It was basically a pastrami and pickle sandwich. Ugh!
Time before that I tried their chili dog. Guys? It's called a chili dog not chili BEAN dog. Beans were falling everywhere and the cheese 'sauce' is just nasty.
Favorite Down Home Lunch – I eat outside every time I eat at Lenny's on Glendale Ave. I’m a smoker so it’s great to have a burger shop that has outside seating. The wait staff always remembers that I eat outside and brings me my food, they never forget that I’m sitting out there. I love the fried zucchini and mushrooms you can't find the Fri cut zucchini anywhere else in the valley, trust me I’ve looked. I love taking people that are new or visiting that side of town there for lunch their food is so filling and good. It’s one of my favorite places to eat. If I ever move away from AZ Ill have to come back and visit just so I can eat at Lenny's.
Service is Great. Burgers leave something to be desired – Lenny's isn't all that bad a place. Ive been to two or three in the warehouse district, normally though the one in downtown glendale. The prices aren't that bad, and generally you get alot of food for your money. You get a pretty good selection of burgers, and both hot and cold sandwiches. They also have the basic sides of fries, and onion rings, along with fried zucchini and mushrooms. The soft-drink selection is pretty standard for a burger place, and you can get a large for ~$2.50. Their shakes/malts/floats are excellent, and at $3.73 for a large, made with actual flavored ice cream and real fruit (depending on the kind of shake, of which they have ~18 kinds), which is start contrast to what you find at other burger joints, which use soft-serve with syrup.
Now, granted their burgers are great, they *do* leave a bit to be desired. They come dry, and typically have a small salad piled on top of them. They also claim their burgers are cooked medium, although most every burger ive gotten stood as counting more as a hockey puck, not medium. Their fries, while touted as being really good, do have one serious drawback. They aren't cooked at a high enough temperature. Which means that they are generally soggy and limp. Regardless of those drawbacks, Lenny's is a definite place to look up if you're looking for a burger thats not *that* bad, bigger than what you see at any other burger place, and definitely cheaper.
Best local owned Burgers in Town !! – I've eaten hambers since i was 7 years old, I do consider myself to be a Hamburger "Expert". I am now 60 and have eaten hamburgers all over the country and the world. Lenny's Burgers are the Best ! Trust me on this one. Not only are their Burgers to Rave about, so are the French Frys, Hot Dogs and the Milk Shakes.
The self serve Soda Fountain is unlimited refills so you always have enough to finish off your meal plus a full to go cup for later on after your visit. My most favorite Lenny's is the new shop on 59th and Peoria in Glendale, on the Northeast corner. Very clean and neatly decorated ! The staff there is always friendly and greet you with a very personable smile and are eager to please. If you like your Burger or Fry's cooked a special way...all you need to do is ask. The shop is very Clean, altho it may be small there is ample enough seating and when it cools off and not 110 outside there is seating so you can eat open air.My second best Lenny's is on 35th and W. Thunderbird on the SW corner. If you've never had a Lenny's Burger do your self and your family and guests a favor and stop by....You will not be dissappointed !!
Bon Appetite !!
Great service, Great prices, so so burger... – When I first read online that this place has the BEST burger in phoenix, I couldn't wait to have a day off and drive on down there. I had driven past it a few times, and I recalled some of the reviews posted by others regarding Lenny's. Recently moving to the valley from the Great State of Texas, and loving the challenge of finding a good tasting burger, I saddled up and quickly got down there. I was impressed with the service, and the resturaunt itself, had that back home feel upon entering, however, to my dismay the burgers (although good) were not up to par with all the the praises given. A family of 4 ate for about $25.00 which was great! But honestly there was nothing special about Lenny's. Maybe it was the anticipation of a down home burger that had me all ready to go? I'm not sure. I will go back, if I'm in that part of town, but I'm not traveling from far out of the West valley to go to downtown Glendale just for this burger. Great service, Great prices, so so burger
Pretty Tasty – (No I'm not affiliated with Lenny in any way) Overall good, with generous portions, great fries and a variety of fountain drinks. Prices aren't bad compared to the big chain fast food restaurants. You will not leave hungry that's for sure!
Just Average Burger – I went out of my way to eat at Lenny's to see what all the fuss was about. Would not go out of my way to eat at Lenny's again. It's just average at best. Must have all his relatives voting to get the Audiance winner award!
Good Hamburger – As we were going to the Jimmy Buffet concert we decided a Cheeseburger would be appropriate. After an extensive internet search for a good hamburger joint we narrowed it down to a couple of choices. I was a little disappointed because althought the hamburger and fries were good they were not in any way close to the best hamburger I have ever tasted. I guess I was looking for more of a Diner atmosphere.
The best burger in town – I, being a hamburger specialist have tried just about every burger shop in town. I would have to say that Lenny's is the best burger shop around. Not only is the food great, but the customer service is impecible. The owners seem to remember faces as well as what the person order the last time they were there. I will be taking every guest I have from out of town there and turning all my friends and acquantances on to this wonderful adventure in the world of hamburgers.
Too Good if you want to loose weight! – I live by this place and I pass it all the time. And when I pass this place there is always people sitting outside eating?? I said I am going to have to stop one day. Well I have lived in Phoenix a year and I finally stoped! Wow Weee! I could not believe what I have been passing up. My friend and I were really hungry so we ordered the triple oh Gosh! That hamburger was huge! And DELICIOUS!! Im scared to go back it was so good. NOw I have to put try to put it out of mind or else I will be there everyday!!
