This is Tucson's finest Indian restaurant. Period. The food is unequaled. I have been to every Indian food restaurant in the city several times. They are all decent to great, and there are others that are very, very good. The service here is gre
Tucsons finest flavors – Yes the interior of this resturant is run down - If you are looking for ambiance, look elsewhere. But if you are looking for the finest most authentic FOOD, then this is Tucsons finest. We have been to every indian food restaurant in Tucson many many times and this one is by far the most consistent and delicious. The service is NOT bad - It is just not rushed. Many diners want to be served by a butt kissing waiter who will pamper you, but many more just want to be left alone with their meal and drinks. Food is ready when it is ready - you cant rush perfection. Beware - If you ask for spicy you are going to get it! They dont spare the butter around here, and the ingredients are exceedingly fresh. I have never had a dish here I didnt like.
Not too bad.. – The food here was fairly good. I would say average. The service however was lacking a bit and the interior was run down pretty bad. In fact the mens bathroom was out of order! Their drink selection also was pretty bad.
I might go again, but only if i dont find a better indian restaurant.
Outstanding food. AS SPICY AS YOU LIKE IT!!! – Wow. I just went to the New Delhi Palace and it was fabulous. I wanted something spicy, and they told me I could order everything extra-spicy. So I ordered the butter chicken. Extra Spicy. And it was pretty good. But then they asked if I wanted it spicier. I told them I did, and then it was totally fabulous. Orgasmically good. Anyway, I highly recommend it. The people working there were friendly and really cared about my experience. And they can make the food as spicy as you want. You should totally check it out.
Readers of the local alternative weekly have voted this place Tucson's best Indian restaurant nine years in a row. – The Scene:
New Delhi Palace was one of the first Indian restaurants to arrive in Tucson in the 1980s, and it remains a favorite for spicy tandoori specialties, a few interesting seafood entrees, and a wide range of vegetarian dishes. Dinner entrees can be prepared mild or fiery, as you prefer, but the lunch buffet is also a tasty bargain and offers a nice overview of the menu for Indian-cuisine beginners. Beverage choices range from tea and yogurt-based drinks to hops-lovers' heaven; there are 35 brands of imported beer to choose from, including several from India.
If you order one thing:
Try the tender tandoori.
