Nice place to Live but sort of old – If you want to live in central-east Tucson, Shadowtree is probably one of your best choices. That whole area went into drugs over time, and my suggestion would be to go somewhere else. However, there are no many very safe neighborhoods in Tucson unless you want to live very north or south-east. But then you will be out in the desert literally, far away from any social happenings. I do not believe that there is any drugs going in Shadowtree. I have not seen any ever in 5 years.

Shadowtree will give you nice amenities such as costco card, free wireless broadband internet access, smiley and helpful staff: I like Dee, she is like an awesome buddy with everybody, Lori although older looks hot and I am sure that is why many male retirees keep hanging at the office, and Jack who is always little confused or does not remember something from the top of his head. They are all good, and the maintenance guys are fair and quick to respond. They have nice pools, one heated one for laps, but no pretty women hanging there in sun.

Shadowtree has a mix of retirees and families, and in its essence it is geared toward being retiree community. Which is fine with me. Shadowtree is pushing up rents every time you have to renew lease agreement. They have about two vehicles stolen from the parking lot every year, and they keep it secret from you at any cost. Every time, a vehicle gets stolen, they hire a security guard for several months, and then you just do not see him any more.

The biggest problem I had at Shadowtree is that the buildings are old, and you can hear neighbors loud music or their sex activities. Also, I had cigarets smoke coming through walls into my apartment which was disgusting. Unfortunately, this you will experience in most apartments anywhere in Tucson.

Shadowtree is nice with friendly staff and residents, but it is nothing exceptional. If you are a retiree you will probably like it more than others. If you have job nearby, I would definitely recommend Shadowtree.

My suggestion to the Shadowtree management would be to ask potential residents how many times they have sex because if you live next door with your family that can be little disturbing.
