Gardens are nice but negative experience with using Groupon coupon. Paid in full in advance $8 to Groupon for admission for two at TUCSON BOTANICAL GARDEN. Receptionist still tried to charge entrance at 9am on 5-31-12 even though Groupon coupon required no further payment. First tried to charge $24. When I explained about Groupon coupon, she said I still owed $16. I explained that again that it was paid in full and she still tried to charge extra $8. I explained it was only for two people and the third person in our group was not going into the garden. She finally very condescendingly allowed two people to enter on GROUPON coupon. Reception rude and discourteous, perhaps because she is white and we are brown and Indian so she thought we are ignorant hicks she could easily cheat. Obviously I can only speculate on her motives since I can never know them for sure but I can certainly comment unequivocally on her behavior. TUCSON BOTANICAL GARDENS in violation of their contract with Groupon.

More than five acres of tranquil plant life flourishes in the middle of town at the Botanical Gardens. – History:
No surprisingly, the emphasis at the Botanical Gardens is on desert vegetation, especially on low-water gardening. The Tropical Exhibit and Sensory Garden are always in bloom, and there's usually something cool sprouting at the new Children's Discovery Garden. Peak times for other areas are April through June for the Herb Garden, April through May and September through October for the Backyard Bird Garden, May through August for the Native American crops garden, April through August for the Cactus Garden, March through October for the surprisingly lush Xeriscape (low water) Garden, April for the Iris Garden, March through May for the Wildflower Garden, and March through October for the Butterfly Garden. Don't be disappointed if you arrive a season other than one of the prime times listed above; perhaps your visit will coincide with the autumn chile festival or the December holiday luminaria nights.

Don't Miss:
Whenever you go, sniff out the tropical greenhouse, home to coffee and vanilla plants.
