I have nothing but good to say about the service I have received from Curtis Plumbing. Billy ended up servicing us on both occasions, and actually remembered the first time even though it had been 2 years. He was polite and professional. He even gave us helpful hints for the future. We will be replacing our horrible, water wasting toilets soon and I know I will be calling Billy back out to install!

We had the unfortunate experience of selecting Curtis Plumbing to pump our septic tank due to pending sale of our home. Tank was pumped and the pumping technician found some root encroachment. In formed that Mr. Curtis would have to inspect but was alright to continue using septic tank. Following day Ken Curtis came out and informed tank had large crack in cement tank and could not be repaired. Would check with his engineer but believed would have to replace with 1250 gallon septic tank of which none were available. If I wanted to close escrow on time he could replace with a fiber glass tank located in Yuma which he would go get for $1200 more than the estimate to replace with plastic tank for over $7500.00 plus open items. Checked internet and found out fiber glass tanks were readily available and could be delivered next day. Needless to say we had tank re pumped and inspected. A 1/16" crack along seam was located with some root intrusion. Tank was cleaned and repaired. I was charged unnecessarily for engineer to draw up plans to replace existing tank, permits, alleged hours spent by Mr. Lewis to obtain and deliver plans to city etc. All this cost me just over $1600.00. The second opinion company charged $1200.00 for two pumping's, cleaning and repair. I consider myself lucky to have avoided an unnecessary expense to replace repairable septic tank with minor root intrusion. This scam has been reported to BBB who did nothing and the Arizona Attorney

Generals office where further investigation is still pending.

There are other complaints on this and other sites with complaints about Curtis Plumbing. You should not take a chance. There are other reputable companies that can be trusted.

Complacency has taken hold, well likely it was always there ...just hidden

For us it was missed appointment / no calls ...

Sadly the Curtis response was not dissimilar in fashion, to what others are reporting

Curtis was not at all interested in their lack of service

Unable to hear any criticism and absolute their unwillingness to learn

Though very interested in berating me

Wow! Simply no comprehension of customer service

Cheryl Curtis just rambled on about numerous topics

ie;

Number of incoming phone lines, business structure...

Really Cheryl?

To your customer these details are of no relevance

Seemingly it was anything she could come up with to obfuscate my issues

It went so far as;

Cheryl weaving a tale that I was contacted, by her no less

I was never contacted, remember this is what started my epic adventure

I am told internally Curtis did contact themselves, well that's swell

Cheryl bested her own incompetence by:

Telling me I was lying about the conversation between her employee and myself.

Oddly this is was a conversation Cheryl was not privy to

Though she did remain absolute in her knowledge of its contents

note Cheryl never asked this employee what transpired

The conversation was regarding the following days schedule and what would transpire.

Oy Vey, in all Curtis has gone done the drain

The Internets yielded some great corollaries to my own experience

It is a great feeling to be vindicated and to know I was not dreaming

EXTREMELY expensive!!! Folks, there are reputable companies out there that will do just as good of work as Curtis Plumbing for FAR LESS money.

I had a septic pumped several years ago. the TOTAL cost, including the truck, two men, and the haul away was $400.00. I have a second home under a leasing agent. The agent (unfortunately) called Curtis Plumbing to pump this septic, which Curtis did. However, when I received the bill it was for $1,160.12!!! I understand that costs have risen the last couple of years, but TRIPLE?

Apparently Curtis throws in every charge they can think of to bill their customers. First was the "Pump" charge $100.00. The charge for two men 4 hours each was $572.00 total! Electronic locator (?) $40.00. Material (?) $53.90. Misc. truck expense(?) $13.99. Mileage (28 - I assume miles) $140.00. Disposal fee $236.40.

Want to spend EXTRA money UNNECESSARILY? Call Curtis Plumbing. They have no compunction in OVERCHARGING their customers.

Cheryl Curtis sent me an e-mail rebutting my claims trying to explain away the amounts and stating that their office called me with an estimate. I NEVER received a call from Curtis Plumbing throughout the entire process. When I called to express that I was not happy with the total cost, nothing was even remotely stated to try to explain anything. Just "What is the credit card number your paying with."

If there was a way to rate Curtis Plumbing on a scale of 1 - 10, I would not hesitate giving them a NEGATIVE 10 rating. Do I recommend Curtis Plumbing? ABSOLUTELY, UNEQUIVOCALLY NOT!!!

So, do what you want folks. I know that I will NEVER be back to Curtis Plumbing, nor will I EVER recommend them.

I had an appointment for work to be done between 11-3pm. At 2:01 pm received a call and one message from “Sheryl Curtis” to call back regarding my appointment. I called back at 2:11pm. “Sheryl Curtis” said they had been calling “all morning” and since they “got no response” she cancelled my appointment. I explained the only call and message I received was 10 minutes before and I had no other missed calls or messages. “Sheryl” kept repeating in a rude tone of voice that she had called numerous times “all morning” and “left several messages” insinuating I was a liar. I kept telling her the phone has been by me all day, I have been waiting since my appointment time and that no one had called. She finally said “well maybe I misdialed” and that “she had to send her service man to an emergency”. If she had been polite and said that from the start, I would have been more understanding. Why would I pay and reward a company that is rude, uses an accusatory attitude towards a potential customer and insinuates the customer is lying, when in fact it was the companies fault in the first place? We will not be doing business with them again.

Great Company! My septic spit up junk all over my bathtub because I hadn't pumped it in years. Not only did they come out on the weekend to immediately give it a short-term fix, but the office manager answered all of my septic questions. I'm a city girl, so I had no idea that you need to pump it every six years, or so. Then they came back during the week, so I wouldn't have to pay the weekend rate, with two men, to pump the whole thing out, which was filled to the top. They were very nice and professional, and knew what they were doing. They didn't waste any time getting to work in our 100 degrees plus temperatures, and they even gave us a Senior Citizen discount. I was also happy that they cleaned up all their work, and left my backyard looking just like it did before they did the dig up.
