Not a huge menu selection, but what they do offer is delicious and the value is good. Service is friendly, and I will be back.

first time 4 of us went for dinner it was excellent. Just recently 4 of us went again and the prime rib was not tender, and my wifes potatoes were not warm. They were not busy at this time because it was 5 oclock upon opening. Very disappointed.

Ouch! – Treating our out-of-town guests here was a mistake.

Nice decor. Stale rolls. Paper napkins.

gone down hill & hitting bottom – this used to be a fabulous place to eat but the new management only cares about saving the restaurant money mistreating the employees and not caring if the guests return or leaves happy. food is cold, salad is wilted, rude manager, poor meal, better to cook home on the grill!

Plastic Food – I used to live in Tucson & the food at this place was always legendary. Briefly back in the area, I wanted to stop in again "for old time's sake." Boy was I disappointed! The steak was good, service stellar, but they use margarine & artificial sour cream. The server brought us real butter when we requested it, but who eats artificial sour cream on a baked potato? The stuff is nasty!

People concerned with cholesterol aren't usually out for steak & potatoes. Besides, artificial dairy is far worse for people's health than the real thing & the taste is awful. When I want steak & potatoes I certainly don't want artificial (ie: plastic) anything. Everything else was excellent, but I won't go back again. I refuse to eat artificial butter or sour cream. I want real dairy & real beef, PERIOD.

I've never heard of an old west steakhouse serving margarine or artificial sour cream. Plastic food is for doll houses. I don't want to eat off plastic plates or cutlery either... is that next?

Tough, prime rib had minimal flavor – Good service, unfortunatley the rib and salad were lacking anything to recomend them. Rib was tough, no not tough, chewy. No apparent marbeling, very strange - never had anything like this in my 53 years. Mud pie was ice cream w/ some kind of pudding on top. Stay away.

Do not go, any other place would be better! – I love eating out and, many years ago, I had fond memories of El Corral, however, the meal I paid for tonight was not worth the doggie bag it came in (for my dog, really). Start with the glacial service, then add to the mix "We're out of the (house) burgundy", then enter the salad.

Having been a waiter, I can say that I NEVER would have served the brown and wilted mess that waiter plopped on the table. However, even I was amazed to see that the carrot on my plate was completely dried. I mean like a communion wafer! These salads had been waiting for us for more than a day you cannot dry a root in a few hours even in Tucson. I had to wonder where they kept such fodder, since there is no pasture outside . . . perhaps on the roof, I thought . . . perhaps this was some new "machaca salad."

No.

So I called for the manager, since the waiter had slipped away, embarassed by the fare. To my amazement he listened to my complaint, fingered the crispy carot wafer and then nodded, as one does when confronted with an unavoidable sad truth.

Later, fresh, if uninspired, salads were eventually deposited in front of us. Then we waited, and waited. You should know that we had all ordered "Prime Rib", which, if you don't know, is cooked long before the first guest arrives.

After a total of 45 minutes from ordering our "prime rib" was also dropped before our hungry and (by this time) starving and forgiving fingers. Alas, not only had the waiter placed the three plates in exactly the wrong place (all three were wrong against all chance), but the meat was incredibly tough, tasteless and far from prime.

I would not recommend this travesty of a restaurant to anyone. Please don't go. As hard as this is to say for me, a McDonald?s hamburger would have been better, faster and one tenth the price.

Families flock for grilled steak, chicken and burgers at the kid-friendly restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. – In Short
Inside the ranch house restaurant, wood beam ceilings and fireplaces provide guests with an authentic steak house atmosphere. Known for its legendary prime rib, seafood dishes are also served including grilled salmon fillet for $12.95, grilled shrimp dinner for $14.95 and shrimp cocktail for $6.95. The relaxed western setting makes the kid-friendly restaurant a fun place for banquets, private dining and parties.

Poor Food Bad Management – Service and quality of the food has been deteriorating over the last year. I had to send my steak back three times to get it cooked Medium. The manager said the cook said it tasted ok to him !!! I have not returned in two years.. I doubt that things have changed..

Just another tourist trap – I have lived all my life in Arizona and have been in every old cowboy steakhouse around. They don't have anything remotely unique, same old uneven floors, lots of wood and hanging iron but missing the sawdust. The waitress was a very "in your face good ole girl". Horseradish is extremely hot so they probably grind it just before they serve it. The Prime Rib was cool to the touch and dull in color. The skewered shrimp order that my date had was small 26/30 size shrimp. They would be better off using larger shrimp for a better presentation. She was not impressed. The meals were served by a bus boy and when the good ole girl came by to check on us we ordered a 2nd round of drinks with her. By the time we saw these drinks the ice was nearly melted and we were ready to leave.
