Sketchy used video games - MUCH MORE legit stores out there – Bought a used 360 at the Thorton store after trading in a series of EXCELLENT quality used games and systems. I received a system that immediately made an eerie whirring noise and often would be completely unable to read my 360 games.
After playing a BRAND NEW disc for a good 48 hours, it too, was unreadable. I noticed it was VERY scratched and took it back to the (legitimate) store I bought it from. They said the CD looked as if it had been dragged across sand paper.
As it turns out, it was the system itself that was scratching my games - easily scratching 4 of my games beyond readability.
Where is the quality control?
When I took the system back o the store, the employee explained to me that the scratched games were just a result of normal "wear and tear". They tried to convince me that the system was fine, but after resistance and a call to the manager, they took it back.
If they actually stood by their used systems, wouldn't the employee plug in my 360 at the store to show me that the system is fine?
All I received upon return was a quick "this is wear and tear, don't return it" lip service and instant store credit when I dared them to plug it in so I could show them the problem.
1 star for the horrible product control and skeezy return process from the redhead employee and 1 star for the employee who bought back my trade-ins. He was very knowledgeable and caring about both games and customers.
Good service – Too the above review, if they gave you a full refund on your money after 7 days, then they would essentially be a free rental service and wouldn't make any money, if you want to see if you'll like a game, rent it first, if its worth it then buy it. But only store credit, especially in this world of piracy is perfectly legitimate.
Scamers – Bought a Gameboy advance game there on a Friday, the person who waited on me said I had 7 days for a refund if I didnt like the game. Took the game back on sunday and was told I would get store credit, NOT a refund. Avoid at all costs. They just want your money and then scam you. I will never do business there again, and have informed all my friends to tell their friends to do the same!
