Sally Swihart, owner of this joke of a moving company, is extremely unethical. The moving crew was completely inept and damaged/destroyed thousands of dollars of my personal items. I was "promised" exceptional service and care of my items, to find that they didnt protect numerous pieces, loaded tables with the legs down (which of course all broke off). Do you homework, read ALL the reviews on the web re: this inept company. They do not care about your items, just their bottom line. Sally will not return your calls, they will not supply you with a "claim form" and if you are lucky enough to receive one, they will deny your claim.
This was the fist time I have ever hired movers. My real estate agent recommended Road Scholars Moving and Storage. I only needed my furniture moved. Mikey, Kory, and Jerome got the job done in three hours. I couldn't be happier with the service that I received from Road Scholars!
Agreed with MarkH391, they broke walls, scratched appliances and the owners are pieces of work. Sally and the jerk who sen theletter telling me about the properties of auto metal as compared to appliances, CLOWN.
I wasn't satisfied with this move.
I had an agreement with the moving company to wrap, pack, and move my items to storage. They did move the stuff but not all my items were were wrapped, packed, and protected. The movers still had paper wrapping and boxes left over after the move. I paid for the wrapping and boxes. The leather sofa wasn't completely plastic wrapped and had a scrap where it wasn't wrapped.
Some of my fragile electronic items weren't wrapped and packed. I had a monitor that wasn't wrapped, packed, and protected with there was an attempt by a mover just to stack it on the pile. I also had printers that weren't wrapped and packed and were just stacked on top of each other.
I had a table that had its leg ripped off. I saw a chair carried by the lead that had a broken leg. Both the table and chair were new and weren't broken before they moved it. The lead stated that the chair he carried was found with a broken off leg.
I had a mover yell at me as a paced back and forth looking angry and say "that I am not going to get paid." The lead had to come over and tell him to calm down.
The lead didn't follow instruction as well. I asked him not to throw his cigarette butts in the planter and not to get the punch on the floor. I had to clean up the punch twice that was on the wood floor. I asked him to pack the wardrobe boxes at the front of the storage area and none was stacked there. He instead put two of the wardrobe boxes in their storage area.
A Great Move!! – I have had four professional moves over the last 12 years and Road Scholars was far and away the best firm and team of movers I have worked with. They worked hard. They were fast but were extremely careful. And, over the course of 10 hours, they were cheerful, fun and generally enjoyed their work. Moving is generally a pain - Road Scholars made it much easier!
