Check your Bill in good light! – I took 12 to a Thank you Christmas dinner. I ask a girl waitress how much wine was per glass and she told me $4.50 to $6.00 a glass. Only 2 of my people drinked 2 glasses of wine each. The waiter charrged us all for beer. I could not see the ticket when I signed it. Yes my fought for not looking closer. But when I tried to question the bill. The waiter lied to his boss. And she was very rude to me to even questtion her or him. To say this is a good place NO Way. I made reservations and stated we would most likely all have prime rib. When we got there at 7:pm they only had 5. Want ever ......... go back. I've had other to tell me almost the same story.

Enjoyed every minute – My wife and I have only had the pleasure of eating here one time and we loved every minute of it. The server in the bar was personable and very enjoyable. She made sure to let us know it was fine to put our peanut shells on the floor and she also kept our drinks filled. When we got to the dining room we were a bit disappointed that she would not be our server. Our waiter was kind of stick in the mud but we had him smiling by the end of our meal. The soup was ok but the steaks were wonderful as was the catfish. It was so relaxing to sit and watch the day turn to night. My wife really liked the family style of service we received. I plan on taking my in laws here as soon as I can. I believe they will enjoy it as much as we did.

Best Place in Denver for steak – My husband and I have been eating here since we were kids. The atmosphere as well as the services we receive has always been a 5 star, the food is to die for. I have three kids, and Northwoods Inn is their favorite place to go. The get to throw peanut shells on the floor, they have coloring with the teddy bears, and everyone has treated my kids and us with nothing but courtesy. Can't wait to go back again.

Awful Owner Ruins Experience! – My husband grew up coming to the North Woods Inn at the old location. We went as a couple many times as well before we had children. While 9 months pregnant with my first child, we waited a very long time for our dinner to come. I was pretty uncomfortable and discretely put my foot up under the table on the seat next to mine. The owner was in my face within seconds telling me to get my foot off the chair because people would want to sit there and that it's not acceptable to do that. In disbelief, my husband asked if she was serious (not knowing who she was). She began yelling at him and berating him. We told her that this was terrible service and that we wanted to leave and not pay for the food that hadn't come yet. She informed us, "..that you WILL pay for that food or I'll call the police."

We paid the bill and refuted it with the cc company.

This is not a family friendly place. Actually, if the owner had any sense, she'd sit at home and hire a manager to do the business.

Loud, rude, and tasteless – We came to this restaurant by invitation of another family member. There were nine of us. The atmosphere is great if your are hard of hearing and don't care to visit with your party. The service was terrible. Two members of our party ordered beer, which was brought promptly, but the rest of us requested water and had to resort to begging any passing employee for it since our server never did bring it. The menu is exteremely limited for those of us who prefer not to eat beef or deep fat fried something or other. The all you can eat crock of soup is a crock..nobody refills anything. Iceberg lettuce is not my idea of a salad. The steaks are salty and over cooked..great if you want to be a heart attack waiting to happen. Those of us who found limited items to eat were looking forward to the wine sundaes on the menu for hunger and nostalgic purposes, but were not offered dessert. Our check was brought to the table after not having seen our server since he delivered the food. With these kind of prices you would be much better off finding a restaurant where they are glad to have your business and show it!

Awesome for Weddings & Events! – It's too bad to see a bad review for this place. I'm having my wedding at the North Woods Inn (AKA North Woods Event Center) and I couldn't be more pleased with the service I have received so far. What a refreshing experience to be catered to and treated so well. The coordinator at the facility has been wonderful to work with, she has set up everything beautifully and has made sure that everything is complete and organized along the way. My wedding has been a breeze so far, and I know it will continue to be. If you are thinking of hosting a wedding or an event, look no further than the North Woods Event Center. North Woods Inn is already known in Littleton and surrounding Denver area for their food (which is wonderful and very tasty!) and now offers their menu selections for custom events. They take care of the details so you don't have to making my wedding enjoyable instead of a busy, blurry nightmare! Check them out!

Kid Un-Friendly – After being seated (we were a table of 5: 3 adults & 2 kids -- ages 2 & 4). , I popped quickly back up to the waiting area in the bar to grab some peanuts for the girls for "shells on the floor!" A white haired woman (I found out later this woman was the Owner/Manager) abruptly said "No,no,no!" as I was walking back to my table -- then another waiter next to her quickly stated that they don't allow peanuts in the dining room. It was a bummer, but hey, no problem. Then, while waiting for our food, our 2 yr old picked up her spoon, and decided that she wanted to tap her side plate. After (maybe) 4 loud taps, I was on it, and quickly put my hand on her plate, catching her spoon and saying "No, we do not tap on plates!" This had no sooner left my lips when the white haired lady was at our table; grabbed my 2 year old's plate from the table and stated "If you can't stop, then we will just take your plate from you." She left our table as quickly as she had stopped and I was left looking at my mom & husband wondering what just happened? When the lady returned past our table, I asked her to please not speak to my child like that again. To this she replied "Well, if you can't keep your child from banging on the plate, I will take it away again." My husband then asked to see the manager, and the white haired lady replied "That's me." Minutes after that, we decided to leave. My husband offered to pay for our drinks and our waiter stated we didn't need to. Unfortunately, due solely to the Owner of this establishment, our experience at North Woods Inn was as follows: Horrible, uncomfortable, shocking. Obviously, we will never return and will be sharing our experience with as many people as we can -- free negative advertising courtesy of THIS Mom, Dad, and Grandmother.

YUCK!!! – My wife, my mother-in-law and myself ate here on a Friday evening. We have eaten here several times before and were really looking forward to it. There was no one here when we showed up at 4:45 which should have been a clue. They open at 5 and finally seated us at 5:30. I ordered the prime rib. It was tough I mean I could not chew this if I was Jaws. I am the guy eats everything on my plate and then some,

This how ever was not possible, after 3 bites my jaws gave out and I left the rest for the insinkarator. My wife ordered Catfish and My mother -in-law the trout, {sshe not the trout) she ordered the trout. They both said they were fried (again the fish) to the point of no return. The check with tip was over $100 and worth not any near that. What an dismal from a place was at one time great.

Great food without the pretentious "steakhouse" atmosphere – I am astonished at the negative review. We have been to Northwoods Inn serveral times and have never had a bad experience (though we did opt to go elsewhere once, when the wait was estimated at over an hour).

The somewhat quirky cottage cheese appetizer, served with Ritz crackers, sets the tone for Northwoods Inn. I am sure that the very sight of Ritz cracker is enough to send a food snob running for the door. But, for those who set aside their judgments and just try it, the combination is incredible. I don't know just what they put in the cottage cheese, but it tastes great.

My wife and I both enjoy a good steak on occasion, but we were never really attracted to overpriced, pretentious steakhouses, and the the best thing about the chains was often the peanuts. Well, Northwoods has the peanuts too, and yes, you can throw the shells on the floor. It also has some of the best steaks I have ever eaten, grilled precisely to order, and accompanied by simple but excellent sides. If you are not in the mood for steak, the fried chicken is so good that it could be the featured entre at most restaurants. The bread, served in a small, hot and fresh from the oven loaf, is worth the trip alone. I totally disagree with anyone who faults the soups. The bean soup tastes like it was prepared in grandma's kitchen, and while I am not usually fond of oyster soup, thier's is great. I have heard that the deserts are also good, but we have no way of knowing. There is simply no room for them. The portions are so huge that we have taken food home every time that we have been there.

There is only one real fault that I can find, and that is the noise. The dining area is one huge room, and I have found myself wishing that they would put in some walls and plants to baffle the sound.

Below average food and the worst service in Denver – We recently had a fairly large family dinner at the Northwoods Inn (8 people plus two toddlers) and we should have turned around and went somewhere else the second the strench outside the entrance met our noses. I wish I could say that was the low point of the evening, but it wasn't. The atmosphere isn't bad, depending on what you're in the mood for. Wooden floors where you can throw peanut shells on the floor and drink draft beer out of big mugs is fine, but the main dining area is like one huge hall (think of the small town wedding reception at the local Elks club). It gets very noisy and kind of messy with all the stuff on the floor.

The food is average at best. They do dinner as a 4-course meal (cottage cheese, soup, salad, and your entree). The cottage cheese is pretty good once you get used to the unique taste and seasoning. The soup and salad is avg and what I'd expect at a cheap diner or something. The "filet" steaks most of ordered were overcooked with lots of fat and trim, not what I'd expect when ordering a filet for $25.

The worst part about this place by far is the service. We were seated promptly and got our drink order in and returned quickly, at which time we placed our dinner orders. After that, we didn't see our waiter once until we had to hunt him down to get our check. No drink refills, no "how's your meal" inquiries. The hostess was pretty rude as well. Very unprofessional staff all-around.

Very overpriced as well for the quality of food you receive.

This restaurant is a back-woods version of an Outback Steakhouse with worse food. Needless to say, we won't be going back.
