The food is pretty good but the Cheesecake Factory has gotten overly expensive. $15 for a small bowl of pasta without meat is excessive. I was surprised when I arrived that it was fairly empty on a Friday afternoon for lunch. That was until I looked at the menu and realized that the restaurant has increased its prices to the point where the value just isn't there anymore. The cheesecakes are still amazing and that is all I will be eating there in the future.
Decadent cheesecakes and classic American cuisine makes this a popular chain. – In Short
Faux-rustic finishes and colorful light fixtures abound at this almost always crowded chain. The thick-as-a-book menu features Americanized versions of worldly cuisines--Mexican, Vietnamese, Italian, Thai--but succeeds best with American classics. Burgers are a good choice, especially the ""Roadside Sliders,"" mini burgers served as appetizers. The myriad cheesecakes are over-the-top in concept and decadence. You'll leave full, with leftovers.
Ok – I was a little disappointed last time. We waited about an hour for a table and it seemed as though their food lacked personal touch and the place had a very corporate feel. OK food, just not worth the wait or the price.
Great place to go for any occasion – I love Cheesecake Factory. I have eaten there many times. Yes there are long waits sometimes, but it is because it is a great restaurant. All their food is good, drinks are wonderful and I still have not had a cheesecake I did not enjoy there. The atmosphere is great as well. They usually are very busy and again it is because it is a great place to go. My company has had several company parties there and it was wonderful. I have celebrated my daughters birthdays there as well as my own. Nothing bad to say. When I have company come from out of town that is the first place I take them. It is great.
Great place to at least try – To be honest if you have been to one Cheesecake Factory you been to them all. The ambiance, decor and menu are the same in them all. Same wall color, architecture, etc. The food is adequate and appealing to the eye, but typical for a successful chain restaurant as such. The food is enough to take home and don't bother looking at the dessert menu unless it is to go. Some menu items listed in the "book" (which are also full of ads) are over-priced a bit for the quality and the presentation is not top notch, but the price is comparable with other casual chain restaurants. If they got rid of half the menu items I think they will be just fine. I can?t imagine a newbie going in for the first time and reading the entire menu before ordering. As with any large restaurant, wait time and service can be bad if extremely busy (this is quite often). The bread they give you is not great, so order a pricy appetizer to share to get things started. The selection of appetizers are quite good and big enough as a meal if you wish. It is still one of my favorites of the large ?chain? restaurants though.
Go once and then never go again – The architecture is the only reason to go to the Cheesecake Factory. It is very simliar all over the country so if you had been to one, you have been to them all. The brass walls and ceilings are very beautiful and something that should be seen once. The food is another story. Since this is the "Cheesecake Factory" tell me why I have had better cheesecake from a grocery store or a "no bake cheesecake" out of a box. The food sounds exotic and wonderful. Well it's not. It is greasy and below mediocre. And if you like to wait in line for 30 to an hour this is the place for you.
Slow, Slow, Slow – I have stopped eating at this place because not only does the food start to taste exactly the same no matter what you order - but you can plan to wait an absurd amount of time for it.
Great All Around! – I was confused by everyone who gave poor ratings, almost based entirely because this is a chain. There are such things as chain eateries with CLASS, and the Cheesecake Factory happens to be one of them. Not only great for their specialty in their dessert menu, their entrees are very tasty and you get a lot of bang for your buck. The Shrimp New Orleans is out of this world for those who like a little tast of LA, Shrimp & Angelhair Pasta, Popcorn Shrimp, all favorites of mine. Personally I have never experienced bad service there, I've always had great waiters. Or if you want to go relax & have a drink, their bar is great (try a Mai Tai). Well worth the money for a visit here.
overrated restaurant – Quite a few people had told me how good The Cheesecake Factory was so one Saturday night my husband and I tried it. We should have went somewhere else. The hostess was snotty first of all and the service was the WORST I've EVER had. I had to ASK for cream for my coffee, we had to ASK for silverware, he took a long time to come back and check on us and he had a terrible attitude. I was finally so disgusted with the way we were treated we asked for our cheesecake to go and were given the 2 smallest slices in the restaurant. When I called and complained to the manager the next day he made excuses and pretty much blew me off. There are MUCH better places to eat in LoDo where the service is MUCH better too.
Fine eating – The Factory gets a bad rap because it is a chain that often gets lumped in with Applebee's and Fridays. While it may be a chain, it is more like il Fornaio in operation, with real chefs in the kitchen, and a top operation in the headquarters. Thsi is not corporate food. This place is excellent for larger parties because of the diverse menu. It is conducive for sharing and general conviviality that good fun food can generate. It's not Mizuna by any means, but the portions are huge, the ingredients fresh and well prepared, and of course the cheesecake is excellent. I originally resisted wanting to like this place and always come away satisfied and impressed.
