We found the service to be non-existent for Bayou Bob's. We sat outside for a few minutes, then I went in to find a server. The bartender asked where we were sitting and said she'd be right out. We sat for 30 minutes with no service. Another waiter waited on another group of people outside and never even looked our way. I guess Bayou Bob's economy is doing so well that they didn't need our money.

Great food! – The food here was excellent! Very flavorful and great variety. I ate gator for the first time.

The staff was very friendly also.

However, if you want something fancy, its not. Its more like a dive bar with great food.

The real deal – Okay! I started with the Abita Amber beer. One of my favorites from back home (Baton Rouge) and it was even on special, I think it was $2.50. It is apparently on special everyday. I had Fried Pickles and Hush Puppies. They were also on special. (You gotta check these specials out... Ridiculously awesome!) Both were great.

My husband and I ordered a variety of dishes to share. We got the Smothered Blackened Catfish with a side of cheese grits and the Seafood Pasta. I was full after the appetizers but being the good Cajun I am, I kept eating.

We didn't try dessert, but I will return for more.

Slightly off 16th Street Mall and so Worth It. – Now sometimes you just have to cry about great food because it was that good. Bayou Bob's is that kind of place.

If you like deep south Louisiana cooking with the spicy great flavors, you have to try this place.

I started out with the stuffed mushrooms. Stuffed with Crawfish, Breaded and baked to die for shrooms.

Then followed up with the BBQ Shrimp in their homemade Cajon Butter Sauce spiciness.

I couldn't stop, I moved to the Seafood Au Gratin next at the suggestion of Shelly, (awesome barkeeper btw). It was filled with Crawfish, Shrimp and Scallops then baked with cheddar jack.

Now let's talk about the amazing service. Shelly behind the bar was awesome and fun. The owners daughter, Meagan, greets everyone with her sexy Southern girl accent and makes you feel at home. The owners cook and do the books so it's definitely a family affair.

If your looking for a fun date night, try this place out. I sincerely doubt you'll be disappointed.

It was alright – I was recommended by others to give this place a try, since I like cajun seafood. I dragged my boyfriend with me. I had high hope for this place, I thought it would be a good place for a date. It totally wasn't. The good was alright. My boyfriend love the jambalaya, but i didn't like it that much. I ordered a po boy sandwich, it was alright.

make sure your tip goes to the server! – the place was packed due to a show happening next door and everyone trying to get a bite to eat first. our server was great... the table of twelve rude middle aged racist women were not! we sat and listened to this group of women cut down the food, the waiter, the culture of louisiana, and the entire south, and then complain that the waiter was taking too long after they wanted twelve separate checks... get a clue ladies... you can't get a group of twelve in and out in 45 min when the place is packed and you want separate checks. the kicker was when the manager whom, i over heard, name is meagan, pocketed the servers tips when the women decided to tip her instead of him even though it states on the menu that a gratuity of 15% will be added to your bill for large groups. we were in shock! food was pretty darn good... but make sure you hand your server the tip! who knew that was acceptable behavior on everyone's part. shame on you women! shame on you megan! you're what is wrong with society.

The Bayou in Denver? Who New? – This place has really good food. If the Lousianna natives say its good, then ITS GOOD! My boyfriend has been looking for a good "cajun" place to go and we fell in love when we found this place. I had the Jambolaya and it was really good, very flavorful. My boyfriend had the crayfish - which are on special late in the season so look out for that - and he was happier than a kid at christmas. They served it to him on a cafeteria tray because the crayfish were overflowing his plate! They had a really good flavor and were nice and juicy. Our server was nice and it wasn't crowded at all. Everything on the menu looked so good that we had a hard time deciding what we wanted to eat. I can't wait to go back and try something different. If you're looking for good New Orleans food, this place comes highly recommended.

Mmmmm... fried foods and pecan pie! – This place is great! I was born and raised in southern Louisiana and can vouche for the fact that this food is the real deal. My boyfriend and I moved here from New Orleans after Katrina. Our first Bayou Bob's experience was for the one year anniversary of Katrina hitting NOLA... not exactly a reason to celebrate! But we left in a great mood after drinking Abita beer (the only restaurant I've seen that has it) and stuffing ourselves on seafood platters and the best pecan pie a la mode I have ever had (don't tell my grandmother!) I've since taken my family there when visiting and have added the chicken fried steak and hush puppies as my favorite menu items. The food is great and reminds me of many places in Louisiana, from New Orleans, to Lafayette, and way down to Bayou Lafourche. The people that work there are really nice and for Mardi Gras, they had a pseudo parade in the middle of the restaurant. You can't beat that! Who would have thought I'd have found a place like this in downtown Denver?

slow service – I came here for lunch on a weekday, and I must say, the service is slow. Don't expect to be in and out and back to your desk within an hour. We even got there early, before the lunch crowd came. The crawfish etouffee was okay, but not nearly as good as at Gumbo's or Pappadeaux. They have good choices in sides however, and for a pretty cheap price you can upgrade your side dish to gumbo or jambalya. The jambalaya was very tasty.

Expensive and Bad – My wife and I just moved to the Denver area and we usually eat a lot of crawfish this time of year. Multiple coworkers suggested this restaurant.

You have to order crawfish in set of 2 lbs (no big deal) but this costs $17! We've eaten a lot of crawfish and this is the most we've ever paid anywhere. Seeing our suprise, the waitress immediately went into a diatribe about how they are not making any money selling them at this price - whatever.

The worst part was that the crawfish were awful. They were chewy and gamey - obviously cooked too long. The rub they used was appropriately spicy, but had way too much garlic. Half of our servings were just claws and tail-less bodies.

Needless to say, we will not be going back. It's sad that the only decent option in town for crawfish is Pappadeaux.
