Showcasing the history of African-Americans on their journey to the West. – In Short
Founder Paul Stewart collected the forgotten history of African-Americans in the West, from artifacts and photographs to newspapers and clothing. The collection is housed in a historic building in Five Points that was once the home of Justina Ford, Colorado's first black licensed female doctor. The collection contains 35,000-plus personal artifacts, memorabilia, newspapers, legal documents, clothing, letters, photographs and oral histories.
