Bonnie Brae Fine Jewelry. Excellent experience. Vence treated my watches like the heirlooms that they were. Place belongs on 5th Ave., NYC. You love your lady you owe it to both of you to take a look or ask for a private consultation.
Buyer Beware. We dealt with the owner Vence Deherrera. He promised he would have a new ring made and ready for my wife by her birthday. Well we got it two months after her birthday. It took them 5 months in total. When I found out they could not finish it in time I asked for my 50% deposit back. He said they had already started on so we could not get a refund. I asked him to let me take a look at it. He responded by saying he is just to busy to show everyone their project. I guess this is the norm for this guy! BEWARE
untrustworthy and sketchy.
I would never go to this jeweler. Beware. He repeatedly missed deadlines. Told us our piece would be done in 6 weeks and it took 7 months to actually get it in our hands. We were very close to suing him and then the piece showed up. He never returned phone calls and always had some "major" excuse for why he was behind. My piece was an heirloom piece as well and had a lot of sentimental value to it. He recreated the piece and after all we went through, it isn't the quality that you would expect from a local jeweler who has been in business for a long time. Even to our eyes, we can see a lot of flaws. He treated us as though we didn't know better, and that we needed to know this stuff took "time". Yeah right. We do know better.
I still have yet to receive the insurance papers from him, of which I was supposed to receive 6 months ago.....
It was an awful situation and I would NEVER use him again. I would never trust him with anything. Sketchy.
Great neighborhood Jewelery store!. I've purchased beautiful pieces that are one of a kind. Great value service and quality. Reasonable rates for unique designs. Beautiful showroom, presentation and friendly service. Check it out for yourself, 5 STARS!
Lack of Honesty and Quality of Service.
My fiance gave me his Grandmother's ring as an engagement ring. We wanted to find a local jeweler, so my fiance took it to Bonnie Brae. My fiance had to work out of town, so he gave me the number and told me it would be ready on Thursday. On Thursday, I called Bonnie Brae Jewelers and left a very clear message. I never heard anything from them. I called Friday, multiple times on Saturday, and Monday. I was very clear on who I was and my phone number. Finally, when my fiance returned on Tuesday, he called them and they answered. I have no clue why they never responded to my call. I was excited to show everyone my new ring, and they told my fiance it would be ready on Thursday of the previous week.
Unfortunately, I had to wait for 5 days.
It gets WORSE!
Also, my fiance told me later that had called him and told him the diamond was not real. They said they could change it out and I would never know. He was suspcious, and so he had called a jewelry he had orignally taken it to to see about price of sizing. They confirmed that it was definitely a diamond.
Luckily, he did not agree for them to change the diamond. He did not tell me until about a month later because he did not want me to get upset with all the other stressers we had going on then.
Since then, I have taken my ring to a couple other jewelers for cleaning and what not. They all have confirmed it was a diamond and even show me under a microscope.
Bonnie Brae is a very shady buisness. I know I am just one person reviewing, but I would not risk taking your jewelry there. Lying about the diamond..seriously that is disgusting, especially on a heirloom piece.
