Nice clothing store, wouldn't call it a board/skate shop – Great Selection of clothes. But expensive. Staff is a mix bag. Some are helpful, some are arrogant and short.
Wouldn't bother with snow equipement & skate decks. Better off going to Boardroom. I guess most people that shop are just wanna look da part.
Reminds me of a HotTopic & a Wahoo crushed together.
Best Board, Clothing, and all around skate shop – I've been going to Thrifty Stick since I moved here from California in 2004 and I'm here to set the record straight about the absolute best board shop in Denver, if not all of Colorado. Thrifty Stick (now TS Board shop) has always had phenomenal service, Doug, Bryan, Jimmy, and Alex (the newest member of the TS shop squad) have been more than just people I buy my clothes and boards from. Instead they're loyal friends with big hearts. Not only does TS posses these essential qualities that a top notch board shop should have, the board, clothing, binding, boot, skate/snowboard accessories and shoe selection is unmatched. Don't listen to all the haters out there, stop in and check it out for yourself.
WOW ! I was blown away! – My first time in the shop was incredible! Doug helped me buy an Arbor Snowboard, a huge purchase for me. I was really taken back by the amount of time and knowledge Doug invested in this sale. Thanks again guys for all the help! Best shop in Denver by far!!!
I will shop there again – I was in Thrifty Stick a week ago and had a great experience. They have numerous brands to choose from. I found some great sales and a jacket I had been searching for a while now. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will for sure be returning again and I would recommend this shop to anyone.
Not the best of anything – I have shopped here a few times and each time have left unhappy and felt ripped off. Stay away from this one there are plenty of great skate shops in the Denver area. This is not one of them!
One of the best out there – Don't be deterred by the one person's review. The staff at Thrifty Stick are top-notch, and they are some of the most friendly and helpful people I've ever experienced at a retail store. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and is more than happy to spend as much one-on-one time with you to make sure that you're happy before making a purchase. If they don't think the product is what you need, then they won't recommend it, even if it means sending you to another store that has the right product/size in stock.
They also have a great selection of quality products at competitive prices. You can really tell that these guys love their jobs, and their service is far superior to what you will find at any large chain store. I highly recommend Thrifty Stick for their service, products, and pricing.
Better Skate Shops – While I would normally enjoy the independent atmosphere of the Thrifty Stick, I found the service and attitude of the staff to be unbearable. I circled the store for 15 minutes before someone acknowledged my presence. When someone finally decided to help me, he was short and condescending. I usually don't mind this behavior -- in fact I prefer this type of customer service at other independent shops. But the extraordinarily high prices and minimal selection added to the staffs abuse made the whole experience less than pleasurable.
