Classic Denver Dining – A nice dining experience starts with a well-made cocktail and Strings doesn't disappoint. Their bar staff know what they're doing, excellent drinks with a smile. The atmosphere is fun and lively with excellent food. Don't miss the carpaccio appetizer, both the presentation and the taste are fantastic. Service was smooth, timely and friendly with attentive bus staff supporting knowledgeable servers. Strings has been a fun place to go in Denver for literally decades and in the restaurant business that kind of logevity is almost a recommendation in itself. Enjoy.

A Valentine's Disappoinment – My boyrfiend and I went to Strings on Valentine's Day based on a few recommendations. I'm thinking people who have enjoyed this restaurant have been here before when it was not a holiday. When we first got there we waited at the bar until our table was ready. The bartender said they would send a waitress over to serve us, but no one showed. The service the rest of the evening was similiar. We only saw our waitress twice, there was no overview of the menu, and our wine took almost as long as our appetizers to arrive. They had a set menu. My boyfriend ordered the venison, which appeared to only be raisons and sauce with no meat. My ravioli was borderline raw and just awful. We received the last of the lobster tail, which was overcooked and the butter sauce was extremely salty. The only positive outcome was that upon complaining, we were not charged and offered a free lunch.

Boring and Over-priced – Very boring food. VERY over-priced pre-fixed menu for holiday. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Liver & Onions, Penne Pasta, Salmon You name it! – I have been going to Strings since it first opened. I have never, ever had anything that I wasn't absolutely 100% satisfied with. The food is wonderful, service top cabin and a charming atmosphere. It is one of the few places in the world where you can dress to the nines and feel comfortable, or simply be driving down the street wearing shorts and sandals and stop in and feel perfectly comfortable. While reservations are strongly advised, who wouldn't wait in the charming bar for a table should you have forgotten to call ahead. Noel and Tammy cunningham are two of the finest people you could ever meet. An absolute must for visiting friends and relatives. Whether it be a birthday, holiday, a special treat or simply stopping by for a light lunch, it is an institution in our beautiful city. I do wish, however, that they would bring back Saturday lunches. I do miss that, indeed.

One of my favorite restaurants – I just love dining at Strings. The food and service are always top notch. The owner, Noel Cunningham, is such a wonderful philanthropist and a terrific conversationalist. He always asks my children to go into the kitchen with him to make their own sundaes. My two kids adore Noel and my whole family loves going to Strings. Try the beef carpaccio and the drink specials.

A seasonal menu using fresh, local ingredients has kept this restaurant popular since the mid '80s. – In Short
The bright dining room features huge windows and white walls splashed with colorful modern designs. Lawyers and socialites nosh and chat around the white-clothed tables. The seasonal menu features appetizers including crab cakes, carpaccio or a grilled artichoke. The signature entree is penne bagutta, served with chicken, mushrooms and creamy tomato sauce. Another standout entree is the pumpkin seed-crusted trout served with spicy green mole. A warm Mexican chocolate cake makes a fine dessert.

Just amazing! – I went to Strings for the first time tonight, and was blown away by every aspect of my evening. Every staff member from the hostess to the wait staff and bussers, especially the manager, were concerned with everything being perfect, which it was. The service was outstanding, bread at the beginning was full of flavor, and everything on the menu looked great. I have the pasta special for the night and my date had Sea Bass, and both were out of this world. The prices are much lower than you would expect for being listed as a 4$ establishment, but the service and quality exceed that of restaurants where I would pay twice as much. I am mad I didn't find this place before. I will return and continue to spread the word about my new favorite restaurant.

Declining service & food – This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Denver but not anymore. The last few times we have been here, service was awful. At different meals the staff was rude, the meals items were brought out cold or at different times, the wait times between courses was over an hour, etc. The only thing constant is the terrible service. Call me crazy but when you order port with dessert, you actually expect it to be brought out with dessert- not when you get the bill.

The food is also declining but is still pretty good. I still love the carpaccio and tuna tartar but as an example, some of the grilled veggies on my salad were slimy and old- almost unedible.

We won't be going back here anymore. I don't know what happened over the last few years but we have given it many chances in the hope that they were just having an off-night. It seems everyt time we go, they have an off night. There are plenty of other upscale restaurants that have great service and food for less than what you pay at Strings.

MY OLD REVIEW FROM 2005: Carpaccio and Tuna Tartar To Die For: I am a bit biased because I love their sister restaurant, 240 Union, but Strings is delightful. Every course is well prepared and the appetizers are especially good. My favorites are the carpaccio and tuna tartar. Even the bread that is served is amazing! The wine can be a bit overpriced but it is well worth paying a bit more when it is accompanied by the delicious food.

The one. – Strings is perfect for entertaining out of town guests, good friends, or just a special dinner for the two of you. The food is superb, the wine list is one of the best in denver, the desserts are perfectly paired with after-dinner cordials. The service is attentive, but not stuffy. The ambience suits shorts or, well, suits. Explore new restaurants, try the latest food craze, but you will come back here for reliably the best and most consistent dining experience. And Noel and Tammy do it all for the love of serving their guests and to support too many causes and people to count.

Best gets better... – After so being open for so long you would think that Strings would be out of touch, not at all! I have not had such wonderfull food in so long. The Chicken sliders on the patio menu are heaven in my mouth! The Bartender is Cute as well as knowledgeable about the menu. I highly recomend this eatery to anyone who wants to see or be seen, or who wants just great food and service.
