Thieves – I'm quite offended by the abhorrent service I've received from Best Buy today. I spent a lot of money yesterday (2/5) on an 5.1 component based insignia home theater system. The box was opened. When I got the product home, a remote was in the box which was nothing like the picture of the remote on the box. The remote didn't work in the least. I returned the remote today, they couldn't find a replacement and in turn gave me a universal remote. However, the universal remote RCA RCRN04GR doesn't support any home theater, audio or surround sounds let alone the Insignia NS htib51a/ ns r5101ahd that I purchased. It takes a long time to drive to best buy and further more I don't appreciate the lack of service or lack of knowledge exuded by the "Wal-Mart greeters". In fact, I've received much better service at Wal-Mart than I have at Best Buy for some time. It's unfortunate that Best Buy is still in business. I think their fraudulent, time wasting, neglectful, Enron wanna be company should go bankrupt. I, for one, choose not to purchase a single item more from the detestable store, by the rude employees, nor the insignificant management staff that passes me off to a teenager chewing on a plastic tie from a box.
I'm disgusted that my boyfriend had to go back again today for the third time to attempt to resolve an issue with a product I paid good money for. After talking with management of the despicable Colorado blvd store 211. They said they didn't have a "comparable" remote that would work on my insignia, the item I purchased yesterday. Instead the only resolution was for me to spend even MORE money to buy a stupid remote that would operate the surround sound. They offered to only apply $12.99 to a much more expensive remote. My boyfriend said, "So, you're willing to loose a customer? After three trips you're not going make this right?" The Manager of the store behind the customer service desk said, "If you're willing to loose the best electronics store in the city, you bet."
At this point, I threw the RCA RCRN04GR universal remote away. I have no desire to yet again be made a fool of in Best Buy. I will eat the cost (which is surely Best Buy's responsibility plus 2 days of wasted time) and purchase a remote control that will work with the surround sound from another store, any other store than Best Buy. Best Buy will no longer have me as a customer and frankly, they can take these customer pins xxxx002xxxx0205xx, xxxx04xxxx80xxxxx, and my reward zone card number 22xxxxxxx, stick them where the sun doesn't shine.
This place is awful but it wont let you rate it no stars – I sent a version of this to the Best Buy corporation
I should think that as Best Buy?s monopolizing choke hold over a huge percentage of the electronics and computer retail market begins to tighten you would be able to afford jobs for the consummate professionals you have displaced. I had the displeasure of engaging with 10 or 12 computer specific sales associates and members of the Geek Squad. All they could do was sweat and fumble like a bunch drama club students after junior prom. Every employee I dealt with proceeded to recommend and grantee products that were not only incorrect for the task at hand but also incompatible with my computer. I don?t ask for much: cup of coffee in the morning a Highlife at night and roof over my head but it sure would be great if when I went into, what is now, one of the only computing and electronics stores in our not-so-tiny metropolitan area that I can get a straight answer out of a valid employee. Over the course of 3 different trips in 3 days I was shuffled around and handed off from one employee to another like Grandma Tilley?s colostomy bag changing duties after Thanksgiving dinner. It was a descent through a gauntlet of inadequacy as everyone I spoke with became more and more inept until somehow I found myself voicing this very complaint to a front door security guard, whom several employees had identified as a manager. I wouldn?t want to buy a cheeseburger from these clowns much less spend thousands of dollars on complex machinery. Maybe if you guys had a drive-thru window your employees would feel more comfortable in the work place.
In the end I purchased a working product from a competitor ?the Mac Outlet? who, oddly enough, chooses to staff competent and informed employees.
Never Again!!!!! – I took My hard drive into best buy to get the data retrieved and they ended up formatting the hard drive!!!! Deleting everything on it Costing me a lot of time and Money! I ended up taking the hard drive to a local computer repair store "The computer Geekz" and they were able to get some of my files for me when best buy told me it was hopeless. I suggest to anyone thinking about using this over priced service to check out some of the smaller local computer repair stores near you at least they seem to care and are not held back by a corporate face!
A virtual Mecca for gear heads, this electronics giant hawks everything from booming sound systems to notebook-sized personal computers. – In Short
Founded in 1983, this high-tech haven is recognizable by its blue, box-like building stamped with a yellow price tag-shaped logo. Explore the wide, gadget-lined aisles and find brand-name goods including personal computers, video games, TVs, digital cameras, cell phones and fax machines. Choose from a slew of popular brands such as Canon, Microsoft, Samsung and Sony. In-house installation services are available for most car audio and video systems, home entertainment systems, satellite hook-up, and home appliances.
what customer service? – it took 11 minutes to speak with a human being about a television pickup. on my first effort, the toll-free number, i was told to push "5" for help with television. when i did, i was told i'd pushed an incorrrect button. thinking i'd screwed up, i dialed it again. same results. when i came to my sense and called the local store direct, and pushed the requisite buttons, someone picked up the phone, laid it down for 2 minutes, then hung it up. on my second call, the phone rang 8 times before a sales rep answered. he was courteous, but it did take 11 minutes, too long when i'm spending my money.
They try hard – BestBuy has great prices, and the managers will go out of their way to help you. We purchased a digital camera with 4 yr warrenty which after 2 years came back from the first repair only working marginally. They sent it back again, and the manager gave us an excellent loaner for a month for a trip to Greece while the second repair was effected (not back yet). They are interested, and they care, but you need to speak to the right people. Its a big organization, and not all their help is helpful (or knowledgeable), but don't give up. Find the right person.
not worth my time – I would never buy a cd from bestbuy again, I use to go in there but I could never get any help trying to find what I wanted, they need to hire some real help that will actually want to help you find something that you are looking for.
Sorry Service – Best buy does offer great prices. It's like they say you get what you pay. With the cheap prices you get cheap service.
I have had multiple problems with Best Buy. I have to diagree on this one. Media PLay would be the way to go. They offer the replay membership which pays for itself in savings, and not to mention great customer service with prices that are comparible to Best Buy.
