I have avoided the dentist for 19 years due to extreme dentist phobia and anxiety after horrid experiences as a child. I have been having pain and knew a whopper of a toothache was soon on its way so had no choice but to find a dentist. I chose Dr. Druckman after his positive reviews and I'm so glad I did. I was afraid that I would have at least a dozen cavities or need at least several root canals. I was insistent on being IV sedated for any needed treatment.
Dr. Druckman made me feel at ease from the beginning. He spent time talking with me which eased my anxieties and then his assistant took the x-rays. After the x-rays were finished, Dr. Druckman scanned my teeth with a Diagnodent which is a painless laser light that scans for hidden decay beneath the hard surfaces that are difficult to find. You can imagine my relief when I only have one cavity in a wisdom tooth that has to be extracted anyway!
I do have gum disease which is going to require deep scale cleaning, but we started with a general cleaning today. I felt so at ease that I didn't need sedation. Dr. Druckman prescribed me Demerol and Valium to take prior to my appointment, combined with nitrous oxide and I did fine. He took his time, was very gentle, and never made me feel bad or embarrassed due to avoiding the dentist for 19 years. His entire staff is very caring, attentive, and professional. We have devised a treatment plan to maximize my insurance since he is not in my insurance network. His costs are surprisingly less than other dentists quoted in my network. He also did the cleaning himself instead of an assistant. How many dentists do that? He applied topical anesthetic and reapplied it as needed so that the pain in my infected gums was greatly reduced.
I have set numerous appointments over the years with dentists but cancelled each one due to the extreme anxiety and fear I had. Having a dentist break a needle off in your mouth and then climb into your lap with needle nose pliers to dig it out will do that to you. I was able to keep this appointment due to his positive reviews and after speaking with his office manager about my fears when I called to schedule an appointment. She was so kind and caring that I decided I could at least go...I could always leave if I needed to. When I got there, the staff was so warm and caring, that I was able to sit in the chair. They offered me a warm blanket if I needed it to feel more comfortable, and was overall very attentive to my comfort.
I am returning next week for the wisdom tooth extraction and half of the deep scale cleaning, and I feel a little nervous because it will involve shots, but I completely trust Dr. Druckman. We made an agreement that if I feel too uncomfortable or anxious he will stop the procedure and reschedule for IV sedation.
He has a very down to earth style, dry witty humor, great stories to make you feel at ease, and great rappor with his staff. Close attention to detail and skilled. He didn't try to upsale and in fact saved me money as we made my treatment plan.
If you have avoided the dentist due to extreme fear and anxiety due to bad prior dental experiences like I did for 19 years, I hope you will give Dr. Druckman an opportunity to save your smile and conquer the fear. I am so grateful to him and his entire staff. I am actually now looking forward to getting my dental work done and knowing he and his staff are helping me to conquer my extreme dental anxiety. I know I will be able to continue with regular dental checkups from now on.
Competent, Excellent, Great................Dentist. – After being told by my last dentist that all my teeth needed to be pulled and gave me an estimate of $50,000 - I got physically nauseated, panicked and did not return. I was referred to Dr. Druckman by a friend and the minute I walked in the office I was relaxed and calm. The staff was friendly and professional, and not condissending (I hate chirpy cheerful condissending!!!).
Dr. D examined me,and promptly reassured my that my teeth were not going any place, bu definitely did need some work. He used a machine to detect cavities, as he explained it s better to catch them at the beginning, rather than later when a root canal may be the only option. I had a whooping 3 cavities - Hooray!!
Dr. Druckman put together a treatment plan that was financially realistic and worked with my insurance.
I left the office feeling I was in the best place I could possibly be for my dental care and with a dentist who was an experienced professional.
Happysmiles – I have been a patient of Dr. Druckman for several years now and he is a very honest dentist someone that I trust. That is why he is not only my dentist but my husband and my children's dentist. I know that he is a very good dentist because he has several degrees and is constantly educating himself and my family on the latest dental technology and equipment he recently told my husband and I about a new machine he has that can detect cavities sooner than xrays and the human eye. I believe in early detection the sooner you find the problem the quicker you can get treatment in order to avoid bigger problems in the future like root canals, crowns and maybe even loosing a tooth. It's just like with breast cancer now they have these machines so you can go get a mammogram and detect breast cancer early so you can get treated before it spreads and you loose a breast. So I think it is great my dentist Dr. Druckman did the research and takes the time to educate my family and I on the importance of prevention and early detection of cavities that is why we all have Happy Smiles!!!
I Would Chose No Other! – I have read the reviews and the last review is so unlike my experience with Dr. Druckman!! I think he is an amazing dentist! I was referred to him because of all of his degrees, experience, and the quality of his work was said to be fantastic! I don't want to see someone brand new to the field who is barely a dentist and doesn't have any furthering education like fellowships. I will only go to the best because I have learned that not all doctors or dentists provide the same quality care.
Before Dr. Druckman, I was going to another dentist regularly for my check-up's and cleanings and every time I would go there I would mention that I would have sensitivity to some of my teeth when I ate cold things like ice cream or when I drank hot liquids. I would continually ask the dentist if I had cavities and he would always say no. That my teeth were fine and he just said to use Sensodyne toothpaste.
I didn't think I should be having sensitivity, so I then went to Dr. Druckman and he said that I had cavities. I told him that I had been going to another dentist like I was supposed to and he said I didn't have any cavities so why is there a discrepancy between the two of you? Can't all dentists see a cavity? I could tell he didn't want to speak ill of the other dentist, which was admirable, and he then simply asked me if the other dentist used a diagnodent machine along with using x-rays, and a visual exam to look for cavities. I said the other dentist didn't have a diagnodent laser machine to detect cavities.
Dr. Druckman was very nice and said I'm sorry to tell you the news, but you do have cavities. Well, Dr. Druckman filled my cavities and used silver fillings (which is safe, and I have heard this from other dentists) on the back teeth and guess what!! That tooth sensitivity I was having that I had complained about with the other dentist was gone!! I asked Dr. Druckman why did the sensitivity go away and he said I had cavities and that the sensitivity was a symptom of that. I then asked Dr. Druckman if I stayed with the other dentist and he didn't do these simple fillings what would have happened. He said I would have ended up with root canals and crowns, which would have costed me thousands of dollars. Oh my gosh! I'm glad Druckman filled my cavities and I can eat all the ice cream and drink the hottest coffee with no sensitivity!! I would trust no one, but Dr. Druckman to take care of my teeth and my family's teeth!
Beware! – I wouldn't return to his office if he was the last dentist on earth. I have never had a cavity or any sort of dental work in my entire life. I recently moved to Denver and I went to him because of his positive online ratings. He told me I had "fair" teeth and best and I needed about 9 fillings. He wanted to do silver fillings which I was worried about. He told me not to worry and to look at his receptionists teeth to see what they would look like. Her mouth was FULL OF METAL! I left crying..... I went to another dentist for a second opinion and had him send over the x-rays. She said there were not any cavities in sight and my teeth were just fine...... all of them. I have been going to her for a year now and won't be going anywhere else!
Kind and Caring – I highly recommend Dr. Druckman. He is very knowledgeable and kind. I knew I would need a lot of work since I have always had "bad" teeth. He never once made me feel bad and ashamed about my situation. He has great knowledge and experience to address any dental issues you may have. He is very thorough and will make sure every question you have is answered to the fullest. Best of all, he can do everything from root canals to braces all at the same place. No running from one specialist to another! His staff is also very kind. They will take care of you. Outstanding dentist and the only dentist I will go to.
Kind, Thorough, and Professional – I couldn't agree more with the other positive reviews of Dr. Druckman. He and his staff continue to impress me. I'm not usually a fan of dentists and orthodontists. I knew I needed a lot of work done because I had waited way too long for my regular cleaning and was having tooth pain. I went to a different dentist where they were rude and made me feel horrible for the state of my teeth. Because of these reviews I tried Dr. Druckman- what a difference. He patiently explained all the work he was doing, making sure I was comfortable with everything that needed to be done and never judging me for it. He admits to making up silly stories to keep his patients distracted during procedures. Plus, Constance at the front desk spent an entire morning making calls with me to my HR dept and insurance companies figuring out dental benefits. She is always very helpful. I've never had trouble getting an appointment or waiting at the office.
The Best Customer Experience Ever! – As a customer, I have purchased $20,000 automobiles, paid cash for medical, dental, and eyecare services, leased $1,000/mo.+ plus apartments, etc... but I have never been treated with the care, respect, and professionalism that I experienced at Dr. Druckman's practice.
Over the course of two weeks, I had an exam/X-ray, fillings, a cleaning, and a wisdom tooth extraction. Throughout all of these procedures, Dr. Druckman, his hygienist Christy, and the office manager Constance all took the time to ensure my comfort level with both the procedures and the payment was always high.
There is no better example of this practice's commitment to its customers than the fact that Dr. Druckman actually drove me home himself after I had my wisdom tooth extraction. His concern for my well being went beyond the chair and I can't thank him enough for that.
If you are new to Denver, tired of your current dentist, or just wishing you had a genuine human being reaching their hands into your mouth every 6 months, I encourage you to visit Dr. Druckman.
Quick and professional – I had a wisdom tooth extracted this morning and it went very smoothly (painless). Dr.Druckman made me feel very comfortable by explaining everything that we were doing and options for other dental work. I trust he and his staff so much that my entire family will be using him in the future.
Great Dentist!! – When my boyfriend and I moved to Denver we were worried that we wouldn't find an affordable and flexible dentist in our area. Dr. Druckman and his amazing staff are always helpful and very friendly. They continually work around OUR schedule. That is something rare to us. We're still amazed at how many initials Dr. Druckman has after his name......he's a very intelligent man that will always try to explain things to you in a way that you can understand. He is constantly learning new procedures and is very excited to use all of his high tech gizmos. Which he does not make you pay more for. After having him as my dentist I have paid much more attention to my teeth, he actually shows you the pictures he takes, which at the time will gross you out, however, I guarantee that you will THINK when you brush!! If your looking for a great dentist he is the one. But be patient. You will most likely get to know his waiting room well. If your not a patient preson, make your appointment for the early morning!
