I've heard of hot Thai but...... I totally agree with the last review. We went there the other evening and there air conditioning was not working but they did have 2 portable swamp coolers going (no water attached) to try and keep it cool, we ended up sitting right in front of it to be somewhat comfortable. After chatting a little bit the owner/waiter told us in broken english that "we shoud oder clickly to get serve soona", well ok then. We quickly order our food and drink and soon our dinner arrives (3 out of 4 is not bad) after 5 minutes we ask if our 4th dish is due any time soon. After they scramble a bit we realize that they dropped the ball and the young waitress (daughter who was more concerned with the TV then anything else) totally depended on the cook to make sure all the dishes are accounted for. 10 minutes later the dish appears out of the back room with no apologies or ???

Anyway, if you go there, order take out and check your order before you leave. The food is awesome but the customer is always second.

Don't overstay your welcome!. The food was actually quite good; however, I will never return. Arrived at 1pm for lunch. Around 2:30, asked if it was OK that we stayed (and talked.) Was told OK, BUT around 3:15, the waiter (owner???) turned on the volume of the flat-screen TV to an extremely high decibel level. When another customer arrived around 3:30pm, he turned off the volume and served him. THEN, HE TOLD US THAT WE NEEDED TO LEAVE!!! So, even though he was "open" for the other customer, we were not welcome to stay and chat. Of course, our water glasses had not been re-filled in at least an hour! So, there really was NO customer service and an absolutely rude demeanor. Too bad I enjoyed the food, otherwise this would have been a NO STAR review!

Love the food - Service needs improvement. I love the food at this place, but the service is a bit unusal. I took my uncle there who was visiting from out of town along with my son and his date. Half the parties' food arrived 20 minutes before the others. That was very uncomfortable. We could have chosen to wait on their food to come before eating but then ours would have been cold. The limited english spoken there makes it a bit difficult to order your food. I have been in the past several times and I see that they have decorated since then. It does look a lot better with an odd placement of the flat screen television. It is always quiet there, but I wish there were more considerate when dine in a group. We came together so it was obvious to me that we had planned on eating together. Good food but not very considerate!

Good food, quiet atmosphere. I had head about this place via Citysearch but it was way out of my way. However, i recently got a job in the area and decided to try it. It is great food. My friend and I went for lunch and the portions look a little small, but they fill you up. Neither one of us finished our plates. At lunch your meal comes with a bowl of soup and an egg roll. YUM! Lunch only cost us 15$ for both of us (before tip). We were the only ones in the place (we ate around 1:30 on a weekday) and our service was quick and good. I highly recommend this place. You can choose how hot you want your dish...very very good. I wouldn't consider this place really romanitic, but i like it and will be returning.

Editorial Review by Mary Morley. Family-owned strip mall Thai restaurant offers authentic dishes like green curry; all food can be adjusted for spiciness.

Most authentic Thai food in Denver!. I read several reviews on this site about Thai Spice and felt compelled to write one myself. My wife and I go there time to time even though it's quite a bit of drive from where we live. One reason - great dishes! Yes, I agree that they are most of the time understaffed, but just relax for goodness sake! If you want someone to come over and constantly give you 5-star rate service, go there and pay for the service! I am tired of places like Thai Basil or other wanna be authentic Thai restaurants that can never get a dish right. Our friend who is a Thai herself told us that there are no other Thai restaurants in Denver that can make dishes as authentic as Thai Spice. One advice I have - just be careful with spiciness when you order. They have 1-5 rating, with 5 being the spiciest. We usually get 3, but sometimes this week's 3 can get spicier than last week's 3.

WATCH OUT IF YOU ARE VEGETARIAN!!!!!!. I have always been happy with my meals at Thai Spice. Although the staff is rude, I haven't had to deal with them as much seeing as that I always take out. I am a VERY STRICT vegetarian and I ordered the green curry, half-way through my meal I noticed several chunks of chicken in it. They replaced my meal but without a sincere apology. It made me feel very sick. Also when I showed them the chicken they asked for the cup of green curry back that was in my car. I don't know if they just reused it or what but the whole incident left me feeling disturbed and without an appetite! Not recommended for strict vegetarians and that's a shame.

Thepeople who work there are just plain mean and rude. I have never written a review before, but let me tell you-as good as the pad thai is, the people who run the restaurant offer the most incosiderate, rude and incompentant service out there. I have eaten there several times because of the food, but you are guaranteed to never recieve a smile, have a dirty plate cleared for you, have anyone ever come back to ask you how everything was. They typically will have one server for the whole restaurant whether there is one table or eight seated. I really like the pad thai but feel bad every time I give them any of my money becasue of how they treat thier guests.

Worst Thai food ever. Let's start off with the fact that I am Thai and have been to a lot of Thai restaurants in the country and all around the World. This is by far the worst Thai restaurant I've ever been to. Pad Thai is way too sweet and, instead of using tamarind juice, they used ketchup as a part of their Pad Thai sauce. That is just wrong! Price may look cheap, but portion is small. My co-workers loved this place, but after I showed them what real Thai food is from my own kitchen. They did not walk away from this place, but ran.

good food, horrible service. I love the food at Thai Spice. However, without fail, every time I have been in the restaurant, I leave swearing I won't go back. I am ignored, talked over in a language that is not English and never greeted. It's so frustrating to not get service, when that's what businesses thrive off. The food is delicious, but I always get it to go, as I can only stand a few minutes in the restaraunt.
