Will sell you on "professional" and then rip you off – When we couldn't get our furnace going, we called Brothers to have a technician take a look. The technician was very friendly and punctual, and then cheerfully told me that our 6 year old furnace needed a new blower motor, which would cost us $757, plus a "much needed" cleaning that will cost $153 (that he so generously discounted from their regular cleaning cost of over $200). He "couldn't believe how dirty our furnace is" and "guessed" that it had never been cleaned (we just had it cleaned last fall).
Fortunately, we called on a different business to take a second look. The technician from the other business told us that our motor was fine. He installed a new capacitor (a $14 dollar part), which did the trick and told us that our furnace was only slightly dusty and did not need an immediate cleaning. He also said that the motor that Brothers quoted typically costs about $70. A customer service rep from Brothers called us the next day to inquire about how "courteous" their technician was. Cheerful, polished, on-time, yes... but I don't believe that robbing a family of over $900 is very courteous.

Talk about a railroad rip off – We requested service to have the roots scraped from our pipes. While their my wife asked to look at the pressure on the Water Heater. The plumber saw that the venting on the water heater was not to code. Then said he had to fix it and it would cost $465 dollars. He said to let him fix it or he would have to turn off the gas. And if my wife didn't allow him to then he would call the fire department to turn it off to the entire house. Reality of the matter is that he "the plumber" doesn't have authorization to turn off the gas. We as the customer have that say. The fire department said they wouldn't turn off the gas unless there was indication of an imminent explosion so they wouldn't have turned off the gas. The plumber was trying to railroad my wife into paying $465 dollars to replace the venting. I rushed home and stopped by home depot got the parts and installed the proper venting myself in about 30 minutes and it costs me all of about $18 dollars. I feel really bad for anyone this plumber and or company has railroaded into paying for something they were forced into with threats of turning off the gas in the cold weather we've been having. After all was said and done they over charged for the pipe scraping $300 when usually it costs about $175. They did have good customer service over the phone but don't let these guys rip you off!
First class company – The real test of customer service is how you’re treated when things don’t go exactly as planned. Your response was superior and demonstrates you’re a first class company.

No value, but only because I was an idiot. I called and my H2O heater just needed relit, so he showed me where the igniter was.
