My family & I went there for lunch last Sunday. There were 21 of us ( 3 children). Our server tried his best to keep up. There should have been at least another server to accommodate all of us. The food was atrocious!! Even the child's macaroni and cheese was hard as a rock. The tortilla soup consisted of cold water with a few veggies and a glob of melted cheese. Everyone at my table complained the food tasted stale and cold. I paid $11 for a small chicken taco, tasteless and cold rice. I ordered black beans ,got salty refried beans( also cold) I will never go back to this place again. Waste of money! Better food at Taco Bell.
My favorite sitdown Mexican stop in Denver...great food and good service. I would say just the decor needs to be updated as the only improvement that can make this place better. Try the Fajitas and Pollo!
STILL Great – Oddly enough, my parents waited tables at Garcia's (the old Aurora location) back in the 80's! Not much has changed. The pollo fundido is still the best thing on the menu. Well priced, good service and consistent food.
Excellent Food, Consistent, Good Service – My family and I eat here fairly regularly. Their burritos are excellent and must have a whole steak in them! Great quality. No fatty bits. The veg in them is excellent and it's not a greasy mess. Wonderful grill taste. The jalepeno cream cheese on top of some is a great addition. Margaritas are great and will put you under the table! Service is excellent. So far, my favorite mexican in Denver. Also, great for kids. Large restaurant. Clean. Nice homey feeling. Happy hour seems popular, but haven't been able to partake because of the kids. All I can say is love it, love it, love it.
Great Food Great Service Great Fun – Arrived at 7:00pm on a busy night, got sat right away in a cozy booth on the upper level. Hot chips with fresh salsa arrived right after we sat down. Server (David) was super freindly and suggested the Magnifico Margarita. This Margarita is incredible it's served in a metal glass with a strainer and is large enough to share ( I didn't share mine!!!) The food was wonderful everything was served on hot plates and tasted great. Dessert was chocolate chimichangas I have never had anything like them but I will going back to get more. Everything was great certainly a fun night out.
Great for any evening! – Garcia's is my all-time favorite Mexican Restaurant around! The food is authentic and delicious, the service is always great, I love the happy hour special, the only thing that is a bit of a bummer is you can't get the happy hour special if you aren't seated in the bar area unless you go and order the drinks up at the bar yourself, which isn't that bad, but it's kind of a bummer for your waiter because they miss out on tips! I definitely reccomend to anybody and everybody.
Best Chicken Tortilla Soup Anywhere! – My friends call me a chicken tortilla soup critic and say I should write a book as I try it everywhere I go! I have eaten chicken tortilla soup from Maine to California from Texas to Minnesota and never found anything that compares to Garcia's! Whenever I am in Denver I make sure to visit at least once. Between the great soup and the outstanding margaritas it's hard to leave!
Mini Chocolate Chimichangas! – My daughter and I love to go to Garcia's! We always enjoy the meals and the decor, but our favorite part is dessert - miniature chocolate tortillas with melty cream cheese and chocolate chips inside, topped with chocolate and caramel sauce and served with ice cream. Yummy! These are too rich for some people, but that's okay, it just leaves more for us! We always have good service, the prices are good, and the seating area is large, so there lots of different views within the restaurant. I've never had a bad experience at Garcia's.
Good food, great margaritas! – Visiting from Toronto I was looking for somewhere quick, but not generic, to eat. Garcia's was the closest to my hotel so I went to try it out. Initial thoughts were that it was full of Hispanic families, so it must be at least okay! Good prompt service, good food (great refried beans and guac!) and fantastic margaritas. Try the El Magnifico, you won't regret it! Good family atmosphere, waiter was attentive, food was authentic and tasty. Table was a little dirty. Price was $20 for food (main and dessert) and $10 for my vat of margarita. I'll be visiting again before I leave for sure.
Excellent Mexican Food in DTC – The resturant is very spacious so their is not much of a wait to be seated. The food was very good, especially the hot carmel apple dish I had for dessert. This is definitly one of the mexican food resturants in the southern area of town. Prices were fair!
