RUDE, AND THEN MORE RUDE – King Chef employee snidely says: really guys? Really? You can't bring in that orange. It's against health code.
I return the snide attitude with "I don't work at a restaurant, I don't know these things, I'm sorry" and throw the orange away.
King Chef employee as we're leaving: "have an orange filled day"
So I walk back in the restaurant, slap the counter, point at him so there is no mistaking who my comment is directed towards and politely tell him "go f#@k yourself."
He then screams across the restaurant asking me if I want to take this outside. I gestured to him that his suggestion to handle this matter with violence is perhaps inappropriate.
He then follows us outside and advises we shouldn't bother coming back. I make it perfectly clear I have no plans to come back.
Then another employee comes out to advise us that we are 86'd.
Apparently we are 86'd now. I was so looking forward to going back.
HORRRIBLE EXPERIENCE – I WILL NEVER GIVE KINGS CHEF MY BUSINESS EVER AGAIN AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU!!!!!!!!! My family and friends have been long time customers of King's Chef. Today (Easter) I took a good friend to eat there. It was her 1st time. She has a 1 and a half year old daughter and while waiting to pay her daughter began to cry. Apparently GARY THE OWNER DOES NOT RESPECT WOMEN, CHILDREN, and FAMILIES. He arrogantly told my friend that the baby crying was, "KILLING HIM AND HE COULD NOT TAKE IT AND TO LEAVE". The manager came out to talk with me and his response was, "SORRY GARY IS AN A.HOLE AND YOU JUST NEED TO GET OVER IT AND LEAVE." Therefore, my response after asking repeatedly to speak with Gary (and being turned down) was, "Well an A.HOLE has just lost A LOT of business." Please DO NOT TAKE YOUR BUSINESS TO THIS RESTAURANT EVER AGAIN. REPOST THIS MESSAGE AND TELL ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS.
Great breakfasts, burger, and green chili – This is a great little independently-owned diner. It has limited indoor seating but there are outside tables, too. They have great and unusual breakfasts (e.g., The Grump), good burgers and the best french fries in town. Give it a try!
