Best food Ever!!!!! – I love their food and the enviroment. The staff is good to everyone. And the cooking staff is so good at what they do. I just love that place.
Bad experience, never going back! – This is a very overrated place, in fact it's not even the best steakhouse on the block, try the famous just up the street instead. we were treated rudley and unattentively all night. Our waitress seemed to have mor eimportant things to do, like talk to her friends at a nearby table. Our steaks were overcooked, all three of them and not by a little, our creme brulee curdled, and check pushing $300 for three people, maybe if it was good, but this was not.
Excellent quality, worth the price – Finally a place in Colorado Springs who "gets it". The food was of the utmost quality and the service was right there with it. The variety and quality is the best of experienced. I love the low lighting and upscale steakhouse atmosphere.
Romantic and also a great atmosphere to just get caught up with friends and such. Food was wonderful. Staff and seating prompt and professional. – Another couple took my husband and I out to this place one evening. WOW!!! We were seated as soon as we walked through the door. The food absolutely melted in my mouth! (I had the Tortellini) The dessert was delicious too. I loved how we were able to just chillax with no feeling of rushing out of there. This is a wonderful place to get caught up with other adults and enjoy each other's company over great food. I strongly recommend this place to do just that. (Guys, this is a great place to take your woman to be romantic) However; I wouldn't say that it is a place for children. Only because of the romantic, relaxing atmosphere. Also guys, though this is a great place to take your girl, make sure you have a full wallet....you are gonna need it.
ALso not worth it – I have to agree with previous review as it is not that is bad, but at this price range it needs to actually be good. Boring steak and potatoes restaurant, with an attemt at some creativity that failed. My creme brulee was actually curdled and my kobe ribeye overcooked, not what I want from a $50 steak.
Not worth it. – My party of three was underwhelmed by the food and value at Mackenzies. Though the waitstaff was friendly, and the mixed drinks generous, we found the mediocre quality of the food to be in complete dissonance with the tab (roughly $200, incl tip, for a casual dinner for three) for lukewarm steak and uninspired side dishes.
A Wonderful Find – My teenage son & I spotted this downtown Chophouse while cruising for a reward to his week of training at the Olympic Village. It was that, and more. It had the ambiance in every way of a vintage chophouse. Even as a single woman with a teenager, we were treated royally! When I make it back to Colorado Springs, I will definitely make Mackenzie's a repeat performance.
For a romantic evening... – This is not just a steakhouse. Steakhouse would be too undignafied. This is the place were you take your parents, grandparents, girlfriend, fiancee, wife when you get that promotion at work. I suggest the "Dynamite" Cabernet Sauvignon or a straight up Ketel One Martini for drinks. The deep fried sushi (can't recall the name) or the artichoke dip for appetizers. For the entree, the filet mignon or the surf and turf. Break out the Platinum card, because this is going to hurt. For a romantic evening, ask for a seat by the fireplace.
