We've been going to China Village since it first opened in the eighties. It's food is consistently good and the service special. When our oldest son comes to visit from out of state, he always wants to visit. We lived in California for some time and had traditional Chinese food there and grew up in New York, so we've had experience going to a variety of Chinese restaurants. China Village is the best in the Springs.

Sub standard at best – Should be "Ghetto Village" as afar as I am concerned and I want my star back.

How a $5 lunch can cost you $184 – I filed a complaint with Call for Action. They have previously investigated this as they have received so many complaints. Apparently, as it is a PRIVATE LOT,they can legally tow ANY vehicle. The towing company said 300-400 vehicles per week. Keep this in mind if you risk eating there, but make sure you keep your receipt, then you get a FREE tow to a backlot shanty.

I would like to open with the fact that if I could give negative stars, I would. I used to live downtown a few years back and would eat here fairly regularly with fair treatment by the staff.

Today, I had to return a failed cable router and was excited to go eat here. I live on the north side of town and used to remember this as a pretty good place. So I park my car and walk over to comcast to drop off the router and then go eat. By the time I walked through Comcast's doors a tow truck was hooking up my car. I come back out and say, "Excuse me, I'm having lunch here." The tow truck guy replies with "I watched you walk over to Comcast and now your car is on my truck. If you had wanted to eat there, you should have went in the restaurant first, but you didn't. Call the number." It's 40 degrees outside and I am not allowed to even get my coat as the guy drives off with my car. Nice! So then I go into the restaurant. I speak with a 'manager' Jason who says that I should have come in and told them I was going to be inside in a few minutes so they wouldn't tow my car. I'm sorry, I understand wanting to have parking for your clientele. I would understand more if you had more than five cars in your lot. Apparently I should have parked in Comcast's lot, then driven my car 25 feet from Comcast so that I could go eat lunch. Jason informed me "We have signs all over and maybe you just couldn't understand what you read." I was irate. Not only did you take my car, which, on principal is offensive as I was a customer, you additionally insult my intelligence. BRAVO! And BTW...The towing company sits and waits for people to leave China Village's property so they can tow the car. The office at Pinky's towing informed me they have a contract to tow vehicles, but if I had brought a receipt from the restaurant I wouldn't have had to pay the fees. This leads me to believe they have erred in the past, taking vehicles of customers who 'walked into China Village first'. In the 45 minutes that they had my vehicle, I accrued a $30 'storage' fee. And interestingly enough, the restaurant said they called on me, the tow truck driver said he watched me walk in and the tow truck office said they received a phone call to tow my car from China Village. Interestingly enough, he received the call 5 minutes after it was already gone and I was stranded on the street with no coat in the cold. I am fairly young and in decent health. I am not excited about the bill, but had a savings account to be able to pay for it. In this economy, with elderly and ailing customers, how many other people would have been left in this condition with the ability to repair it in an hour? I know many people who would have lost their only car. Simply because they chose to step over a curb before eating lunch. Keep this in mind next time you eat there. I will NEVER go back.

Repeated failures – So I love good food. I'm Italian so you could say its in the blood. I have tried China Village on a few occasions the most recent being today. After my 2nd horrible encounter with foreign objects in my food I figured I should say something. To clarify we arent talking dead rats or appendages... No those would be far to large and easily identfied as something not to be eaten... My encounters have been of a smaller version. I won't go into detail but lets just say small insects and small matted clumps of hair are not delictable.... even when served up Hot and smothered in what may have been a decent brown sause for my cashew chicken...

Granted the staff was semi gracious and offered me another plate. After having 2 rather unpleasant experiences I dont plan on giving lucky number 3 a chance... Just heads up for what its worth. Colorado Springs has a pretty good selection of quality chinese cuisine. Your money and meal is in much sounder hands elsewhere.

Stay Away - Lousy Business – I had a $10 gift certificate for this restaurant which expired while I was out of the country for 5 weeks. When I called to ask to have the certificate honored, a very, very rude lady told me "There is nothing we can do about it." I said, "Sure there is, you can honor my measly $10 certificate" at which point she hung up on me. I will never set foot in such a poorly run and rude business. Many, many other vendors out there want my business!

This Place if Great and Frieldly – This is a family owned business and has been there for 20 years. We know all the staff and they food is to die for. We love the waiter Bob. He is friendly and is fast. He always remembers what we had ordered before and takes time to visit with us. This is a family oriented place. I think the two negitive reviews were at the wrong place.

Best Chinese Restaurant in Town – I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS RESTAURANT DOES NOT HAVE A HIGHER RATING!

My family and I have been going to China Village for over 14 years and have found it to be the best Chinese Restaurant in town, or for that matter in the whole state of Colorado.

We are from New York and thought we would never again find a great Chinese Restaurant to eat at until we found China Village. There food is an of excellant value and taste. The staff recognizes us when we enter and treats us with the utmost courtesy and respect/ The ambiance is also excellant. Reservations are not necessary, but are helpful especially during holidays.

We very highly recomment this restaurant
