Horrible experience and would never recommend this place to my worst enemy. Me and 3 other bridesmaid went here to purchase plain black dresses, they had the worst selection I've seen. The dresses were overpriced for the matronly looking dresses they offered. They promised they would be able to alter it to look much more modern. Every fitting for all of us was a bad experience, bad customer service, rude, and not helpful staff there. One of our bridesmaid hated the dress even more after it was altered (there was visible stitching & threads, random beads to hide stitches, very strange cut). The store manager refused to give any type of refund so that my friend could purchase another dress from another store, although it's not my friend's fault that the seamstress ruined the alteration to an already sad looking dress. Even if she would do a partial refund would have better, instead she decides to fight and argue with my friend. SMH, horrible, horrible place.
So thankful Terry & Staff on our wedding planning team! – My daughter is off to "happily ever after" and I wanted to share my experience with others. I am so glad that we chose Terry with Bridal Elegance. It was a huge relief off my shoulders to have her on our wedding team. From the wedding gown, veil, bridesmaids, tuxedos and table linens and chair covers. I especially appreciated how she was able to give us referrals to other wedding professional for services that she didn't personally handle. She was able to handle so many things for us and it was awesome to deal with just one store for so many wedding details. Everything turned out great and I will definitely have her at my side with my younger daughter's wedding next year. Thanks Terry and everyone at Bridal Elegance!
Best Bridal store in Colorado Springs – My daughter was recently married and we used your store for most everything. We were overwhelmed with the quality of service and the kindness and patience of you staff. They are to be commended. You have a wonderful staff and I have already recommended you twice.
Friendly Staff! – It's wonderful to go to a store where you are treated like a guest. Great customer service is rare these days, and when I recieve it I always want people to know.

The. Worst. – So. Went in to look for gowns with my mother, to-be mother in-law, and sister. I gave the woman a list of the closest gowns I found in their book to what I was looking for. I then stated "Simple and sleek, often made of silk charmeuse, gown with a short train. I am having a summer wedding and don't want to weigh 300 pounds." Now I personally have no problem with the big ballgown look. I actually found one that I loved. That they did not carry. They attempted to have me order it because I liked the picture. This was BEFORE I had tried anything on. I said no, I would like to try on some elegant, sleek gowns. Let me look around. So my saleslady heads to the back to check out which ones I had highlighted whilst my cohorts and I began investigating the inventory. I had said that my absolute high point was 1100. She sent me to the $1000+ section, full of lace and beading and long long trains. Not what I was looking for. She pulls 5 dresses that I told her specifically I disliked. Had me try them anyways to check the cuts. One lace dress felt as if it weighed about 150lbs. I am 5'4" tall. I was dying. The lace and beading on the dress was cutting the undersides of my arms, a fact which I stated 3 times before I was led back towards the dressing room. ON the way back, she stops to have the owner of the store see if they can alter it so the lace won't bother me. This dress was entirely beaded. Their solution was lets remove the beads near where your arm would touch the side. My solution was I don't like this dress let me out NOW. I inform her, I have found nothing of interest to me, apparently you don't carry what I'm looking for, I wish you had told me when I gave you my list. She sighs, and leads me over to the styles I was actually interested in. That were all under $600. Much more affordable and I may have tried some on, however, was not informed these existed in the store until I had been there almost 2 hours. My cohorts and I found this atrocious dress. You know the one. Had a bedskirt on the bottom and doilies on the chest. Awful. She hears us mocking it and asks what we don't like about it and we tell her. Everything. The exact opposite of decadence. I own nicer comforters. So a few minutes later she says "Before you go, I have one last dress for you to try." I say, sure, whatever, lets go. I am disgruntled and frustrated at this point. She puts the dress we hated on me. And says "NOW YOU don't say a word. You are going out there to look at this dress." I just bit my tongue, fuming. So my entire family asks, "Why are you in THAT?" I said, "Ask her" She berates us for not liking it. I change into my streetclothes. On our way out, she stops me and my mother and says, "You know the people you brought are pretty nice and all, but you should come back alone next time." My mother was like "Um. Excuse me?" So she tells my mom its probably okay if she comes back, but no one else because I apparently have a weak personality and am easily overwhelmed. I am a female electrician. I have 300 male biker coworkers. Does that seem like a weak personality to you?
WARNING - dress not ready for pick up 3 days in a row! – I arrived to pick up my wedding dress last Wednesday for a wedding on 8/21/2010 and it was NOT ready! Bridal Elegance assured me that they would clean the dress, press it, and secure all beadwork. Bridal Elegance is big on promises and short on accountability. I still had time before the wedding day but I got really nervous that the beadwork had not even been addressed. I asked to see the dress and I was right! The areas of loose beads still had strings hanging and missing beads!! I purchased this dress in October of 2009 and Bridal Elegance had the dress in their possession since June 8, 2010, for an Aug 21 wedding. The Bridal Elegance employee said that I could come back in about 30 minutes and the dress would be ready. I questioned how they could professionally clean the dress in 30 minutes and the employee related that they have a steam wand. I expressed that is not the same as professional dry cleaning and that the dress was not bright and clean and steaming was not going to be ok.
Bridal Elegance assured me that I could pick up the dress on Thursday. I arrive on Thursday, August 19, and the dress has been cleaned as there was about a 5 inch water/steam stain on the front of the dress at the waist!!! Bridal Elegance did not even check their product before I arrived to make sure that the dress they were releasing was ready. We also picked up my groom's suit and the pants were hemmed uneven. One leg was longer than the other. Another point of quality that Bridal Elegance chose NOT to check on.
Our 3rd trip to Bridal Elegance was 1 DAY before the wedding. The dress was finally acceptable but the staff was so rude. The owner and bridal consultants blamed Sherri, the seamstress, stating that she is a sub-contractor and her quality of work was falling off. Sherri did a fabulous job on the alterations. I am sorry that Bridal Elegance would just throw her name under the bus. It was very unprofessional and it doesn't matter if a sub-contractor does the work or not - in the bride's mind they are dealing with Bridal Elegance.
I wish I had some real facts to review before I shopped with Bridal Elegance. They were very nice at first but the shop was not overly clean. The consultant I worked with initially was why I bought the dress. She had just moved to the area and was fabulous. On each subsequent visit she was never there. I finally asked and they told me she had moved on. Now I know why. Because they throw their "staff" under the bus to cover for poor management.
When you try on your dress after your first fitting, there is no area with mirrors all the way around. They put you in a corner and then give you a small hand mirror to view the back of your dress. It was hot and no one ever offers you water during all the dress changing. No personal service or attention and the employees do not dress very sharply for a Bridal Salon stressing that they focus on service and quality.
Buying a wedding dress should be an amazing purchase and experience. I spent about $1,000 with Bridal Elegance and got about $50.00 worth of customer service and the attitude came primarily from the owner Clara.

This Bridal Shop saved my Wedding – Honestly, if it weren't for the folks in this Bridal shop, I would not have been able to wear my beautiful wedding dress on my wedding day. I cannot sufficiently express how much I owe them for this.
To make a long story short, with only two weeks before my wedding, neither of the two dresses that I had ordered from other shops were going to work. I brought one of them into Bridal Elegance in a panic, and even though I didn't buy the dress there, they were able to alter, clean, and press the dress in time for my wedding for a VERY reasonable price. They even helped me get dressed the morning of the wedding! I was a VERY difficult case, because the dress had some unusual features about it, and it really didn't look like it COULD be fixed. But they did it, and it was the most amazing dress I have ever seen. They REALLY cared about what they were doing, even in spite of the fact that they really didn't make that much money from this particular transaction. But they were all so nice to me, and really made me feel beautiful. They gave me confidence to get married in this beautiful dress.
I don't really understand the complaints of the others who have reviewed Bridal Elegance here on this site. The shop attendants gave advice that was direct, but it was not rude, it was simply honest. They really are there to help the customers, and maybe their traditional approach to interfacing with ladies is too much for those with fragile egos. ><
If you want a shop that will be HELPFUL, this is the shop for you. Furthermore, excellence in what matters most -- that is, to provide the right fit, the right style, the right alteration -- is worth the wait. Yes I had to wait a little for my service too, but you know, I was not the only bride on the planet getting married who needed help. The others needed help too, and I certainly didn't mind waiting for them. But then again, I figure we are all in this together.
Bottom line is if you want fast-food bridal services, then go somewhere else. But if you want genuine attention, knowledgeable advice, and skilled service, then Bridal Elegance is a wonderful shop for you. My new husband and I are looking forward to going back when we start ball room dancing. :D
Don't waste your time – Please Brides-to-be don't waste your time here. I went to a bridal show prior to my wedding and supposedly won a $20 off coupon good towards a purchase at Bridal Elegance. I called to schedule an appt for my bridesmaids to try on dresses. We waited several minutes without being greeted by anyone! My bridesmaids had a difficult time making a decision on which dress to choose. Because we had several months before the wedding the store said it was ok to wait a while. I didn't think it was an issue, until I got a phone call from this store telling me the decision had to be made and they needed the money by the end of the business day. The date they called and the date they told me I had to make a decision by did not match up, needless to say they gave me three hours notice for my bridesmaids to pay in full. They didn't win this battle.
The employees told me the dresses could not be ordered until all the money was received. So they all paid and I assumed they ordered all the dresses. However, I got a phone call 3 weeks later from them and they had not yet ordered the dresses because of some staff issue. This is not the kind of stress a bride needs on top of everything else. How could a "professional bridal store" delay an order for three weeks and risk not having the dresses in time for a wedding? After I complained, they offered to do the alteractions quickly as an apology. I quickly stated that I was not satisified with their business and would not do any further business with them because of these experiences!!! The stress here is not worth it-please aviod them!
Rude, Rude, Rude – This shop was not the place for me! I went in with my mom and we first waited 15 to 20 mins for anyone to even say hello to us. The shop was not busy at all only one other person in there! And when I asked the consultant if I could try on a gown on the rack she said " that gown is way over your budget" excuse me! She didnt even know my budget! She just went of the way I looked! ( I always get I look young but im 30 years old) and when I looked at the price it was $500 dollars! I was totally upset and felt like they judged me right from the start! and assumed my budget was low because I look young! Brides beware, clearly they are only there to sell a dress not really there to be part of the experience! Needless to say I found my dress else where in colorado springs at a boutique. But even if they were the only shop in colorado springs they wouldnt get a penny from me!
great customer service – I just got engaged and had a wonderful experience at Bridal Elegance. The Staff was so knowledgable, they informed me on all aspects of my wedding and help me find the dress I love. I have been to 3 other stores in Colorado Springs and no other bridal store had the variety of gowns and the newest fashions. I would strongly recomend them.
