Yukon Tavern rocks again. From The Gazette:

The Yukon Tavern has made a delicious comeback.

A bar and grill with a loyal following since the early 1980s, its decline could be followed online, starting in 2006, when reviews dove from praise to pans. Most commenters noted either unclean conditions or unfriendly staff/management.

Consider that history dead and the tavern reborn under its new name, the Yukon Rock and Roll Bar and Grill. New owners have flushed out the cobwebs and crumbs, given the lumberjack in the logo a new ax in the form of a 1980s electric guitar, and created a menu of solid (though not stunning) bar food that puts it on course to regaining its crowd of regulars.

Once again the Yukon Tavern is under new ownership again. The Yukon Tavern is now the Yukon Rock & Roll Tavern. I went to check it out last night. The bar/restaurant is incredibly clean, the staff was friendly and the food was pretty good. There are now guitars and Rock & Roll Memorabilia on the walls. There's a stage in the back for live bands. I was told they have live music every Friday & Saturday night. If you haven't been there in a couple of years for what ever reason (I can probably guess why). You really need to give the BRAND NEW OWNERS A CHANCE! What are you waiting for? Stop reading this and get back to the Yukon Tavern, THE YUKON ROCK & ROLL TAVERN! HURRY!

Great Place to sit and Enjoy. First time I stepped in the place I was greeted by all the staff with a smile. The food is awesome. You gotta try the Mexican slopper, sliders, their Mushroom burger and their cajun fries. if you like nachos, their Nachos Supreme is excellent and serve you a very generous portion for a very good price. Many activities to do. Free poker, Karaoke, live bands, and pool tournaments. Overall, it's a great place. I don't know what the heck Peaches is talking about. I have been going to the Yukon for the past 2 1/2 yrs. Pete and Anna, the owners, are awesome and very friendly ppl. I hope to see you there...

PRICES ARE WAY TO HIGH. THE PLACE SMELLS AWFUL. ITS LIKE A MORGUE IN HERE. YOU EVEN HAVE TO PAY FOR A GLASS OF WATER. WHAT THE ****! I WILL NEVER RETURN AGAIN. I WILL SPEND MY HARD EARNED MONEY ELSE WHERE

What Happened to the Yukon?. The Yukon Tavern used to be a fun place to go with a Cheers like atmosphere and good quality homemade food. After all it's been an institution in Colorado Springs for 30 years. Rather than keep a winning formula the current owners seem to believe that the times are ripe for skimping on Quality, skimming onf advertised steak weights, contemptuously nickel and diming there shrinking customer base and abusing and humiliating the staff. Food is overpriced and quality has been reduced. This place is no fun anymore.

Pukon, I mean Yukon Tavern-NASTY!. If you like the smell of urnine the minute you walk through the door, you will like the Yukon Tavern. The owner and his wife are the biggest cheapskates I've ever met in the restaurant industry. I really miss the old owner and his happy hour specicals and old staff. These days you really never know what your food is going to taste like because they have such a turnover on cooks( from what I hear, the owners are fire happy). The staff is very rude and put out when you ask for anything. The place is like a morgue because the owner refuses to play any music (he expects his customers to feed his dollar a song jukebox). So if no one is playing music, you sit there in silence. I hate this place. I am never going back. I heard through the grapevine that the kitchen has tons of 4 legged friends. I think I will take my business and money elsewhere. It won't be long before the owners are putting the place on the market.

Avoid at all costs. The Yukon Tavern has been an institution in Colorado Springs for 30 years. Not anymore. The place changed hands about 6 months ago (Oct 2007). The new owner seems to work overtime to run customers off. He has completely changed staff from the day manager to the great evening chefs. The place is a ghosttown, and lately there have been 5th rate bands and an attempt at karaoke, to no avail. The specials have dried up, and the prices have increased dramatically. It won't be long before he will have to close down. I would hope the old owner comes back and rejuvenates the business into the thriving restaurant it once was.

plan to go there again. The service was bad but I think that was just our waitress. Everyone else seemed to get their food in a reasonable amount of time. Also, she admitted to putting my food order in wrong so I had to wait even longer to get it redone. HOWEVER, they have really good food, and it can be very inexpensive if you take advantage of the specials. I will go back to check out their Sat. and Sun. morning build your own Bloody Mary breakfast bar, I'm excited!
