Reviews for Carefree Cats

I love Carefree Cats. They have always taken such good care of my cats. Both are diabetics and are hard to manage. Dr.Moses is very kind and actually does side research to help me out. I took my cats to a different vet.. and when looking for a place to board because no one would with their special needs I discovered Carefree Cats. They immediately put my cats on the correct medicine. I see someone mentioned that the vet is a young woman. So what? She is good with cats and that's what's important.

They have a very young doctor, I mean she almost looks like a teenager out of high school for christsakes. She even talks like one! Her inexperience/insecurity is evident. Staff is so-so borderline uncaring, also we're not talking pennies here, the bills are outrageous. Before they look at your cat, they will want to run all kinds of test and diagnostics, which are irrelevant to your cat but will add all kinds of $$$$ to their bottom line. Avoid them...run, go anywhere but there.

Do NOT take your cat here! Our cat got into a lily and ate some of it. Knowing that some plants are harmful to cats, we called our vet (well, they are now our former vet), Carefree Cats. We told them that he'd eaten the lily and thrown up and asked if there was any danger. We were told that since he'd thrown it up, he'd be just fine.

Thankfully we got a second and third opinion. Turns out that lilies are very toxic to cats and that the only chance they have of living through it is immediate treatment of IV fluids.

As I write this, I do not know if our cat will live or not. We won't know for a couple days. What I do know is that if we'd listened to Carefree Cats, he would for sure be dead. Oh, and when we told them all of this, the vet basically blew us off without as much as an apology.

The staff has always been pretty nice, but one of the technicians smell like alcohol and shakes very bad and I don't feel comfortable with her doing anything with my cats.

I think that their equipments are out dated and while Dr. Pollard may have 30 years of experience, he seems to be out dated. They were unable to find what was wrong with my cat and I took him to another vet and they were able to figure it out, unlike carefree cats. So yes the facility is clean and the staff are friendly but they are outdated and not well equipped.

changes – I first became aware of Carefree Cats 3 years ago when I hear that Dr. Pollard had over 30 years experience and was excellent at diagnosis and treatment, and they have a visiting vet specialist. Dr. Grover. My first experience was very positive, they asked many questions and recommended a change in cat food, which really helped. I brought a litter of newborn kittens there. I was at first not sure if anyone smiled there, confusing lack of smiles for professionalism. Well, it recently became very friendly AND professional with a manager by the name of Joni, who is highly skilled AND compassionate. You will notice the change as soon as you walk in. Give it another try if you don't believe me. They recently changed some staff, adding and eliminating, now everyone is people friendly. Dr. Pollard has around 35 years experience, I believe, and is often mistaken by clients with his serious unemotional appearance. He really does care once you know him. Dr. Grover is both outgoing and highly experienced, I once had her at my appointment. I suggest to those who don't believe me to go back again, you will really notice the difference once you are greeted. They also are extremely good at accuracy, cleanliness, and organizational skills. It is so clean inside there, you could actually say it is the cleanest in town. Their cat boarding is equally clean and quiet.

Clean, Considerate, and Caring – I have taken two cats for various care at Carefree Cats, including infections, immunizations, and having claws removed. The staff has always shown loving care to both. They are quick to return my calls and knowledgeable. When I had to return the first one to the Humane Society, they were very sympathetic. I am blessed to have them close to my home, but I would definitely drive further if they weren't.

Best Cat Care – I have trusted Carefree Cats with my six cats medical and boarding needs since we moved to the area several years ago. Dr. Pollard is extremely thorough and caring. I live past Woodland Park and still make the hour + drive to take them to Carefree Cats because I know they will get the care they need.

The boarding facilities are the best I've seen for cats and the staff takes great care of my kitties.

Friendly, knowledgeable, and clean – I took my bengal cat to Carefree Cats on the recommendation of a friend. I was pleased to see that the facilities were clean and welcoming. The staff treated me well on my first visit, and seeing that I had an over-excited animal in my hands, the assistant behind the counter gave my cat a free toy to play with. Dr. Pollard comes across as blunt and to-the-point, but he genuinely cares for his patients. On the day of my cat's neuter, I was unable to pick him up on time due to unforeseen circumstances, but the staff reassured me that they would board him that night at no charge. They even asked me what kind/brand of food he preferred. I highly recommend Carefree Cats.

Loved my Johnny Cat as if he were their own – The first people who looked at my house bought it so I had to move into the Residence Inn for several months while my new house was being finished. I kenneled my "indoor/outdoor" cat at Carefree Cats for about 2.5 months? Johnny Cat was loved and cuddled. They let me visit often... I didn't feel guilty at all for putting him in there because they took such wonderful care of him.

Now tonite I pick up a new (but older:) cat from the Humane Society and I have already scheduled Boyd to go to Carefree Cats tomorrow to get neutered. I have the utmost faith he will be taken care of. I will let you know how they treat me and this newest member of my family...once it is said and done. I hope they treat "patients" as well as they did their "kennel guests".

NO sympathy – We took our cat to this office for several visits. The doctor was never friendly, but I thought they were the best since they specialized in cats. Our cat's liver was shutting down and we spent almost $500 to find that out and we did IV fluid and medicines at home. Our cat ended up living for another year. She got very sick a week ago and we knew it was probably time to put her to sleep as she was very jaundiced and losing her appetitie. I called the office and made an appointment. They never explained the process or asked what we wanted to happen. They really didn't say anything except they needed our $180 payment. I tried to tell the assistant what we wanted but she cut me off and said they did it this one way. My husband and I were both crying and very upset. The doctor acted like he didn't even remember us and never said he was sorry we were in the situation or anything. I think the only words he said were "She's gone." I'll never go here again and would not recommend it to anyone who loves their pets like family members.
